The Obama administration’s plan to temporarily shelter hundreds of illegal minors at Saint Paul’s College, Lawrenceville, Virginia is on hold.....the White House has continued to see its efforts to house the children throughout the country be thwarted by local opposition. As many as 500 children were to start arriving at a recently closed historically black college. But HHS' plans were stymied, at least temporarily, after town and county officials objected to the short notice and complete lack of community input. “We were stunned,” said Robert F. Pecht III, president of the Lawrenceville Town Council, who learned of the plan Friday evening. “We were told it was a done deal. The lease was signed, and that was it.”
As the feds worked over the weekend preparing the campus for 11-17 year old children, local public outrage erupted, which is about 70 miles south of Richmond. Letters flooded the town council offices.... nearby residents threatened to boycott the town if the college became a way station for illegal immigrants.
Rep. Robert Hurt, the Republican congressman who represents the region, sent HHS Secretary Sylvia Mathews Burwell a letter, demanding she halt the project. After the delay was announced, Mr. Hurt said it should be the beginning of a total rethink. “I would request that they completely halt the implementation of this plan and return to the drawing board,” he said in a statement. “If the HHS plan is indeed good for the people of Lawrenceville and Brunswick County, then they should begin with a transparent and open process that includes the community and the local elected officials every step of the way and ensures compliance with all local, state and federal laws — including the local zoning ordinances of the town of Lawrenceville.”

Taxpayers should also demand the source of funds town officials are using to house illegals.
Tax dollars earmarked for one purpose then switched to finance for another purpose is against the law.
How ‘bout we just send them back to THEIR government and taxpayers and have THEM warehouse them? Sounds good to me.

When you get into this, you will find that this college is looking for “alternative sources” of revenue. Get ready for struggling colleges to lease out their excess dorm space to the feds. Place to sleep? Check. Food service? Check. Access to health services? Check.
Fedgov is facilitating invasion rather than repelling it.
