Look......Lindsay Graham was handed his primary victory with ease!!! Why....because his opponents all cancelled out each other!!! Had Graham had to face some strong opponent...this would have been a different, more competitive race!!! the Tea Party has to field just one opposition candidate...period!!!

Virginians in Cantor’s district are not necessarily smarter but they are more informed.

We shouldn’t compare a relatively small highly conservative district in VA with the much larger statewide demographics of SC in which Graham’s people also appealed to dem crossovers.

See post #255 above to understand more.

Nope, but I am very happy. I just hope Cantor takes amnesty with him.

It’s been a good night, in spite of Grahamnesty’s win. It’s a start and I hope it encourages all other conservatives out there to keep fighting.

The Dem nominee is Jack Trammell. He, like Brat, is a professor at Randolph Macon College.

Tim Scott got 90% in the other primary. I wonder if that even registers with Graham?

pro-lifer BRUCE POLIQUIN WINS IN MAINE #2 over pro-abort Republican Raye.

Is Raye the incumbent? Or is this currently a D-held seat?

it is an open DEM seat.

The incumbent DEM Michaud is running for GOV.
Should be close in NOV.

2008 Obama 55 - 43%
2012 Obama 52 - 44%

It is D+3. Rural northern Maine.

From article:

How Lindsey Graham Stomped the Tea Party

Unlike Mississippi Senator Thad Cochran, a 36-year veteran who was forced into a runoff with a conservative challenger last week, Graham left nothing to chance. ("I'm at a different stage of my life than he is," Graham said when I asked him about Cochran, adding, "I've been planning for a hard contest for two years.") He raised $13 million and seeded a formidable campaign operation, with more than 5,000 precinct captains and six field offices around the state. Through a combination of intimidation and enticement—as when he helped a conservative congressman, Mick Mulvaney, get a seat on the House Financial Services Committee—he kept the most prominent potential opponents out of the race. His six challengers include a state senator and five first-time candidates; combined, they have raised about $2 million.

That's how he won, money, influence, intimidation and enticement, usual crap.

SC voters are notorious near-idiots. But Brat was also a single, good candidate—whereas Graham had the great fortune of going up against many mediocre candidates.
