The world's oldest man, a retired chemist and parapsychologist, has died in New York City at the age of 111.

Alexander Imich died Sunday at his home in Manhattan, according to his niece, Karen Bogen of Providence, Rhode Island. She said she visited him a day earlier with her sister and several of his close friends.

Imich attributed his longevity to good genetics, proper nutrition and exercise and the fact that he and his wife, who died in 1986, did not have children, said Bogen.

Who knows how long Methuselah might have lived if he had not begotten Lamech?

May he R.I.P. But, I wouldn’t pay his pronouncements much mind. My mom died at 100+ in April. Near the end she said some really silly things. It’s best to just agree and to make them comfortable.

And heck the fellow hadn’t been laid in 28 years

Seems like a shallow life.

**So not having children makes you live longer?**

Then who will look after you with you age?

Just remember that “Grandchildren are your reward for not drowning your teenagers.”

A favorite saying of my husband before he died.

LOL! Wow, I remember seeing that list a few years ago and the number was 13. Now it’s 5! Amazing, and three are from the US. No doubt Obamacare will end that in the future. That will be interesting to see, to see how far the lifespan of a US citizen drops under Obamacare in the coming years probably back to caveman times of 26 years.

Instead of spending money and effort trying to take down Boehner, Cochran,. Alexander and McConnell we could of been concentrating on Graham. And just maybe that would of made a difference where we really needed to win. Don't get me wrong we still have chance against Aunt Lindsey. But, we could of had a much better shot if we put our shot where it really counted.

Did you not notice that he died at age 111, so obviously someone did.

My wife and I have no children and we're not sweating having someone around as we age.

Good one! I’ll have to use it.

Having children and grandchildren extends your life, I am guessing.

Oh, to add to my post 17, it’s called “long-term care insurance.” I would submit that it’s more certain in your old age than depending upon your children, who may or may not help you out when you need it.

he and his wife, who died in 1986, did not have children

Well, that obviously worked in his favor, but obviously not hers.
