All of upstate and western NY now looks like Detroit.

I’ve lived in Buffalo for the first 10, Syracuse for 30 and Rochester for the last 10. Every little town now looks like a mini-Detroit. Once thriving little “bergs” are hopeless wastelands for the welfare classes, full of fat, ugly, white women and their little brown offspring. Even the trailer parks are now emptying out. There is literally nothing left of Upstate and Western New York.

Tupper/Saranac/Placid...still have the tourists but Old Forge, and many of the less familiar places are dead.

I left in the 90s and it was bad then. I intentionally avoided looking back.

Recently there was a thread a few of us were talking about it and I mentioned that Tupper’s main street looked a lot like Detroit now in a youtube video I chanced across.

The house I grew up in was built from the timbers of the old Kildare railroad station...the Blue Mnt. Museum one is a recreation. ;) It was built like a tank. Never a palace but a nice Leave it to Beaver style home.

Recent pix of it I saw look exactly like the houses in the detroit pix. Exactly. I am convinced my grandfather rolls in his grave. But thats the result of the APA and Albany bringing ‘democracy Dem style” to the area.

All that remains is Sunmount mental hospital. All logging and industry? Closed.
