You ought to see the wound channel a standard 158 gr. HP makes when fired out of a 35 Remington at 2400 fps. I’ve seen several deer shot with that combination, very impressive.
I once had some .357 reloads that were 125 grain hollow based wad cutters set upside down, 1200 fps. Good for about 20 feet as far as accuracy, but after seeing what one did to a water melon, I had very little doubt what it would do to a man.
