None of us should be married by the state; marriage, as a sacramental state should be handled by clergy. Muslims and Mormons have clergy, so do gay churches, and since when do we tell atheists and non-church/mosque members they can't marry?

Fine, hire a celebrant, clergy or otherwise to officiate at a non-religious marriage just don’t ask the state (by extension, you and me) to officiate or concur.
