The reason for the speed - the reason Obama could NOT wait the 30 days - was because the White House did NOT want the truth having time to come out.

This White House excuse is no different than the lie about a movie trailer causing the problem in Benghazi... it’s so lame that only a liberal member of the press would be gullible enough to buy it.
I dunno. Based on what I’ve seen/read/heard, it seems to me that this whole thing was crafted to give POtuS a ‘props & kudos’ moment parading first the parents and then, eventually, the ‘soldier’ himself, as some sort of a ‘triumph’.
I disagree with ‘speed’, as they’ve been secretly negotiating with the Taliban for years and the law changes last year were made to this end-game. It makes sense that the Admin moved up the ‘exchange’ to take focus off the VA scandal but, again, as the WH controlled this from top-to-bottom it makes no sense that they didn’t know EXACTLY how this was going to turn out. The ‘health’ excuse, imho, was just another load of BS obfuscation.
IMHO, when Carney was briefed on this, he said, “That’s it, I’m done.” It seems SHrillary was the only outsider briefed on the exchange...the timing of her secret WH visit being ‘suspect’. To what end she was briefed we’ll never know, but one can presume it was due to the fact she may have been involved in prior negotiations as SoS and, as the ‘16 front-runner, to give her team opportunity to posture and, perhaps, offer her a spot on the stage. On the latter, I find it notable that NO ONE shared the stage with Puppet and the parents, even Shrillary. That certainly reinforces your view.
Liberal media across the board seems to be consistently being critical of the Administration on this. I find that unprecedented, particularly the criticism from RAT lawmakers. As well, though similar to Benghazi, the story Rice was telling on the Sunday talk show on ABC was supplanted by the report within 48 hours that Feinstein and Chambliss had received apologies from the WH for not notifying them in advance: So which is it? Health reasons to rush the transfer, no legal need to notify Congress, didn’t trust Congress, or they ‘goofed’ (and apologized)? They obviously gamed the obfuscation real well. How could they not have expected the blowback?
The typical unholy alliance/allegiance by the MSM to the WH seems unravelled over this and the WH has lost all handle on damage-control. That again seems unprecedented.
I guess we’ll see what we’ll see...
