PM Why Team Obama Was Blindsided by the Bergdahl Backlash
NRO ^ | 3 June 2014 | Ralph Peters

Posted on 06/04/2014 5:15:28 AM PDT by Rummyfan

Congratulations, Mr. President! And identical congrats to your sorcerer’s apprentice, National Security Adviser Susan Rice. By trying to sell him as an American hero, you’ve turned a deserter already despised by soldiers in the know into quite possibly the most-hated individual soldier in the history of our military.

I have never witnessed such outrage from our troops.

Exhibit A: Ms. Rice. In one of the most tone-deaf statements in White House history (we’re making a lot of history here), the national-security advisor, on a Sunday talk show, described Bergdahl as having served “with honor and distinction.” Those serving in uniform and those of us who served previously were already stirred up, but that jaw-dropper drove us into jihad mode.

But pity Ms. Rice. Like the president she serves, she’s a victim of her class. Nobody in the inner circle of Team Obama has served in uniform. It shows. That bit about serving with “honor and distinction” is the sort of perfunctory catch-phrase politicians briefly don as electoral armor. (“At this point in your speech, ma’am, devote one sentence to how much you honor the troops.”)

No, it is a stupid question.

I knew less then a month after this guy went AWOL that he had deserted and I am just a girl in her PJ's with a computer. The O-bummer team (piss be upon them) knew exactly what they were doing.

“Since Bergdal was listed as POW, publicly, these twits never asked if there were any issues.”

Col. David Hunt (who has a lot of inside military contacts) said on FNC the other night that he was not listed as a POW. I don’t know if he was or wasn’t, but if he wasn’t, that just makes me more perplexed and angered about this situation.

You're right.

And, once again, he gets to say to US:

"There's not a damn thing you or Congress will do about it."
Are we finally tired of this game? When do we get to the fall and destruction parts?

Are we there yet?

I think the Talis paid him tons of cash and he got his buddies, the muslim bros. in Qatar to broker the deal. They got all of that poppy money plus BO promised not to intercept their shipments. Look for some unexplainable executive orders in the near future!

Or he thought the tempest over one deserter and five terrorist chieftains was an equitable trade for blowing the VA, Obamacare, and crappy economic data out of the headlines.

Only question is: how are "tolerant and compassionate" Dummycrat weenies planning on creating "unrest" so that the Chicago criminals in the WH can subdue us?

Holder's stepping up Goon Squads - getting 'em ready and rearing to go after Obama's political enemies... Of course they're going to fail - and lots of these people will live out their days in prison.

That's SO plausible that it scares me.

Of course - with THIS administration, absolutely NOTHING is unthinkable or impossible.

Yes, indeed. That is under the category of “more ominous”, especially going Forward (TM).

Clearly, Ø’ is keeping to his oath of office.

“... I will to the best of my ability, p/p/and d the Constitution...”

Indeed, he is doing exactly that. Only thing is, of course, the best of his ability is: Ø.

After all is said and done, this whole episode is entirely in character for this man and his cronies. It’s heinous, disgusting, but not surprising.

What we should be concerned about is what our congress will (or more to the point, won’t) do in response.

If congress stays in character (whine and bluster, no action), then regardless of the PR fallout Hussein has again been shown the green light for more traitorous and unconstitutional actions. And he will get that message clearly.

The disaster here will not be the trade of terrorists for a deserter, it will be the rest of the slide down the slippery slope of despotism well greased by a cowardly, corrupt and worthless US Congress.

IMHO, several tipping points put the media kibosh to Obama:

(1) finding out Obama gave ntl security clearance to his van driver.

Tommy Vietor, Obamba's van driver, got national
security clearance, and attended WH Situation Room
meetings; Dude Tommy is now working for Hillary.

(2) The imbecile at the State Dept--openly mocked by reporters
for her dumbness--couldn't name a single foreign policy success.

"Jeepers, it's hard to think up stuff when you're having a bad hair day."

(3) Suspicions about Valerie Jarrett's role in Obama’s inner circle. The former Chicago lawyer and businesswoman has been a top adviser to the president since his election in 2008.

Jarrett's official WH title is "Senior Deputy Advisor" (in Chicagon gangland parlance that means "wire transfer artist") Michele Obama was hired by Jarrett---then an official in the corrupt Daley Admin.

===============================================

Laura Ingraham insightfully said that “all roads lead to Valerie Jarrett," noting Jarrett's involvement in secret dealings w/Iran (where Jarrett was born and raised). She has her tentacles into every issue and every topic..... at least part of her role is to serve as “chief liaison to the business community, state and local governments, and the professional left,” but her influence is undeniable.

Jarrett commands a staff of nearly three dozen, and has a hand in decisions ranging from invitation lists to state dinners and gifts to foreign leaders, to USSC nominees, ambassador appointees, President Medal of Freedom awardees.

When Warren Buffett visits to the White House for lunch, the table is set for three.

============================================

Here's Jarrett (in pink) at the BP extortion meeting. CNN reported 2010: Behind closed doors and after four hours of negotiations, BP executives agreed to put $20bn into an independently managed compensation fund.

BEHIND CLOSED DOORS---Obama was joined in the negotiations by VP Joe Biden, and five cabinet secretaries, including DHS Janet Napolitano, interior secretary, Ken Salazar, energy secretary, Steven Chu, Labor Secy Hilda Solis, Valerie Jarrett, and COS Rham Emanuel. / PICTURE/BP Holdings.

DOING THE DEAL---Valerie takes notes as Obama dreams about his cut and new diamonds for Michele. In foreground, then-COS Rahm Emanuel's hand holds the pencil jotting down his cut that will help make him Chicago Mayor.

At the top, in turquoise, then-Labor Secy Hilda Solis figures out her cut and how many BP executive jobs she needs for latinos. Left, Valerie Jarrett hopes Biden will remember his scripted lines.

MOB HIT VP Joe Biden Told BP: "You’ll Put $20 Billion In Escrow Or We’ll Do It For You."

=============================================

Jarrett is "The Enforcer"---making sure Obama is properly adored and worshipped. If you don't worship Oboba-- Valerie's gonna getchou.

If we get the Senate in November, it's possible to go for impeachment.

Of course, we'll all be called "haters of blacks".

In the American Thinker today it was postulated that the Taliban demanded as part of the deal that the CIA Station Chief be outed.

RE :”What we should be concerned about is what our congress will (or more to the point, won’t) do in response.”

Harry Reid is not doing anything to embarrass Obama.
His job as he sees it is to protect him.
Its not worth even a fantasy.
The House will hold hearings on this and maybe dig up more info.

Obama MSNBC sycophants Mika and Chris Matthews are very critical of this decision by him, I am sure he didn't expect that.I imagine that he expected praise from everyone except the GOP on this.

Chambliss 'shocked' by report of Bergdahl's note

“I can tell you the article in The New York Times today shocked me,” Chambliss said Tuesday on Fox News’s “The Kelly File.” “This note that he supposedly left that indicated that he was sympathetic to the Taliban and unsympathetic to the American interest in this conflict was not included in that file. And I'm very surprised by that because normally those classified files are pretty informative.”
To be clear, my theoretical was partly based on that statement.

If it's possible for such a 'note' to be omitted from a classified report available to Congress (intel reports are normally 'detailed'), then it's possible the same info didn't make it to the WH. And, frankly, while I admit that the plausibility of the scenario is remote, it certainly does explain quite a bit.

No matter how I game this, I can't figure out the upside for the Dems as a result of the fallout from this 'trade'. I'm of the opinion that the damage from this is much more telling to major problems within the Administration. Worse, it exposes our government as 'weak' (more weak than before). The ramifications of military & intel revolting against the Admin are ominous as well. Think about it: Bama's doing his 'cleaning house' at the Pentagon and the ranks of ranking officers, the military's budget is under assault, they're 'not happy' with forced integration and 'sensitivity training' for gays, pissed off about the VA scandal...what possible motivation would ranking officers in the Admin have for withholding 'just a little bit of info' from a hostile Admin with blinders on? Flame on, I could care less, but I think it's a valid question.

Insofar as 'irreparable damage'...look at the voting landscape. Independents are not on the left of the VA and this latest 'scandal'. Worse, RATs are openly attacking on this. The LIVs at DU, of course, are all fawning over POtuS no matter what, but without the independents, they're a minority.

Stupidity? Perhaps. But the complexity of the coalescing of such stupidity when balanced with at least one report with critical information to the situation withheld makes the 'stupidity' option much less the 'simple' explanation...imho. I'd been sitting on the thought on which some are flaming me for days; I still think it's a valid question, as the WH controlled this from the get-go (unlike the VA) and when they control it, they're gaming an outcome. I simply can't see the upside when balanced with all the fallout...
