U.S. concluded in 2010 that Bergdahl walked away (It's true)

A Pentagon investigation concluded in 2010 that Army Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl walked away from his unit, and after an initial flurry of searching the military decided not to exert extraordinary efforts to rescue him, according to a former senior defense official who was involved in the matter.

Instead, the U.S. government pursued negotiations to get him back over the following five years of his captivity — a track that led to his release over the weekend.

Bergdahl was being checked and treated Monday at a U.S. military hospital in Germany as questions mounted at home over the swap that resulted in his freedom in exchange for the release of five detainees who were sent to Qatar from the U.S. prison at Guantanamo, Cuba.

Even in the first hours of Bergdahl's handoff to U.S. special forces in eastern Afghanistan, it was clear this would not be an uncomplicated yellow-ribbon celebration. Five terrorist suspects also walked free, stirring a debate over whether the exchange would heighten the risk of other Americans being snatched as bargaining chips and whether the released detainees — several senior Taliban figures among them — would find their way back to the fight.

Add it to the list of impeachable offenses.

Associated Pravda is now spinning that the regime was trying to ‘split the Taliban’ by quickly trading five underlings instead of leaders they supposedly wanted.

That dog, as they say, ain’t gonna hunt.

On Megan Kelly’s show tonight, a fellow soldier avowed that Bergy shipped all his personal goods home prior to “Walking away”. He called him a DESERTER!

Thanks again justlurking!

All y’all ping to justlurking’s link and this excerpt:

“....If the Obama Administration did pay a ransom to the Haqqanis – through the Quetta Shura, the Pakistani ISI, or via a wealthy Middle Eastern Haqqani supporter acting as a middleman – the United States would have knowingly funded a terrorist organization. The United States would need a big fig leaf to hide that funding from the public and the Afghan Taliban/Quetta Shura would have gladly played along. They would have also made the United States pay through the nose for that cooperation. Judging by the list of terrorists the U.S. was forced to release, that’s one possible interpretation of what happened.

Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl’s release raises many more questions than it answers. But will anyone in the mainstream media ask those questions? Will any of them discuss the recidivism rate of Gitmo detainees who, once released back into the wild, return to terrorism? How about the lives and limbs lost in the effort to capture those Gitmo detainees in the first place? What about the possibility that the Obama Administration may have directly funded a terrorist organization responsible for slaughtering American military personnel and countless innocent civilians?

Only time will tell. For now, one thing is clear – it is open season on American civilians and American military personnel around-the-world.

Where President Obama failed to close Gitmo, America’s enemies may just do it for him. All they need to do is kidnap enough Americans, and they’ll have the place cleaned out in no time.

Brad Thor discussed this essay on Monday’s live BlazeCast with Editor-in-Chief Scott Baker (@bakerlink):”

Not only that, but when Bergdahl wrote that email to his father saying how America is “Disgusting” his father emailed him back saying “Go with your conscience” seems to me like his Bin Laden looking Daddy was a co-conspirator in all of this

I think I get it now. Obama just announced our bug out date at West Point.
This deal was an excuse to return 5 Taliban commanders in return for the Taliban laying low and not embarrassing Zero in the meantime. The traitor was just cover for the deal.

Treason? Hardly. 5 years back-pay and a promotion, more likely. Then, he’ll come out of the closet.

President Barack Obama looks to Jani Bergdahl and Bob Bergdahl, the parents of U.S. Army Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl, in the Rose Garden of the White House in Washington, Saturday, May 31, 2014, as Bob Bergdahl speaks about the release of their son. Bergdahl, 28, had been held prisoner by the Taliban since June 30, 2009. He was handed over to U.S. special forces by the Taliban in exchange for the release of five Afghan detainees held by the United States.

O'Reilly was his usual weasel-wording, "fair and balanced", fence-riding, pukey self tonight.

Right out of the box, commenting on the divide between the critics and the defenders of the deserter, the Bloviator said "the truth is undoubtedly somewhere in the middle."

WHAT?

Is there a glorious "middle" between right and wrong, truth and spin, good and evil?

The majority of his guest-parade tonight literally blew BOR's muddle-headedness out of the box and to his face....but he's at heart an Obama-defender, always has been, so I wasn't in the least surprised by his stupid (or deliberate) refusal to accept all the evidence against the released soldier being revealed almost hourly in the news.

I know he's secretly and desperately hoping and waiting for some new "facts" to emerge that will save Obama's arse regarding his 100% signature scandal.

Ain't gonna happen.

......”stirring a debate over whether the exchange would heighten the risk of other Americans being snatched as bargaining chips and whether the released detainees — several senior Taliban figures among them — would find their way back to the fight”.....

There’s no reason for a debate apart from politicians wanting to score brownie points....they all ‘know’ this will happen as a result of the stupidity of this Administration in releasing those terrorist leaders....and Obama knows it too.

What ever happened to the US Policy we don’t negotiate with terrorists? Another lie to add to all the others......as if it matters anymore they lie or not. Nobody pays the piper anyway.

Huh? Watched it all, and thought it was excellent—especially Catherine Herridge’s reporting. And Megyn Kelly’s interview with the two soldiers who were in Bergdahl’s unit really stressed that he was not “captured”—but walked away.
