It's a great story, that needs to be seen by a larger, Generation.com/Gen X audience. Sorry, but Kirk Cameron and Brad Johnson -- both of whom I like -- just don't have the star appeal to draw a mass audience. Combine Cage's star power with some good effects, a rockin' soundtrack (I hope), and a good supporting cast, and this could be an example of exactly what we need...conservative pop culture. Here's hoping more follow.
Scouts Out! Cavalry Ho!
They were cheesy. The Rapture would be quite the event. Easily worth about $20MM of CGI.
There was another about the Rapture that starred Tom Cruise’ old girlfriend, whose name escapes me. (Mimi Rodgers). Not done well. Started well, but did not end well.
Maybe this one will be better. I’d like to see one that conveys the terror in understanding you’ve been left behind, and that the tribulation awaits.
I know there are schools of thought on this, but the idea that in the end, God would remove all of His sheep from the earth, and leave behind 0 Christians, and yet Satan would still lose in the end seems so consistent with how God has operated throughout the Bible with us.
Always the thing that was rejected becomes the cornerstone. The poor abandoned child becomes a high official. Commands not to take anything with you on a journey of many days. Telling us the entire might of the world would be arrayed against Israel, and Israel would win.
Why wouldn’t he take the believers and leave the doubters behind?
