My company has had 4 record-breaking years in a row for profitability, yet the hourly employees have received 1.5% TOTAL since 2008—and we’re doing better than just about any other hourly, non-federal employee in this city.

Giving raises to any federal employee is a kick in the face to all taxpayers.

The company I work for is doing well, best 1st quarter ever, will probably get 2% raise next year.

That's fine, and not one taxpayer dollar needed.

Neither MGD nor I have seen a raise in many many years. Pay cuts, yes....raises, no. Pension? Forgeddaboutit. Happy to be employed, nonetheless.

If federal employees had even a smidgen of a taste of real life, they'd never be able to handle it.

I was pondering this today, I had a job for a time in college which paid 10.00 an hour. This was the late 70’s and good pay, that pay now is considered above average pay for many, is truly amazing given the cost of living increases over that time period.
