Single-Payer Advocates Hit Capitol With New Sense Of Reality

Advocates for a single-payer “Medicare for all” health system are fanning out across Capitol Hill this week, lobbying members of Congress.

But years of mostly fruitless struggles – and watching the intense opposition to the much less sweeping Affordable Care Act – appears to have left them with a much more clear-eyed view of what it will take for them to accomplish their goal.

“This is tough stuff,” Sen. Bernie Sanders, D-Vt., told a roundtable of advocates. “Single-payer health care bills – it ain’t going to take place here in Washington. I suspect it’s going to take place, as it did in Canada, with a state [Saskatchewan] going forward. I hope it will be my state.”

Meanwhile, those who have been pushing for a system that would effectively end private insurance say there’s no question they have the facts on their side.

“What we know about single-payer has zero to do with the merits,” said Robert Weissman of Public Citizen, referring to widespread charges by opponents that single payer systems are inefficient and can deny care. “We have proven alternatives in every other industrialized country in the world – better outcomes at less cost.”

That’s challenged, of course, by single-payer opponents who maintain that other countries keep costs down less by being more efficient and more by rationing care.

The communists are on the march and the republican party is going after conservatives in the Tea Party.

Why “single-payer”? Because the VA scandal isn’t enough!

I don’t think the jump to single payer will be as hard for them as that to ocare, and we are too far removed from any capitalist healthcare system to go back to that. The future is clear.

There is some upside to this. It would make the inevitable USA bankruptcy occur sooner. At some point we need to take the medicine and move on.

Bernie the Commie has laid out the plan.
This will mirror the “same sex marriage” plan.
1) Get any judge to say its a “right”
2) Let loose the flying monkeys to challenge state laws.
3) State and local judges rule based on previous ruling.
4) It gets mandated by judges in most states without anyone ever voting on it.
5) Single Payer is now law of the land

Most Americans have no love for insurance companies. If they had used the medicare for all argument from the beginning, they would have won this battle years ago. But a bunch of insurance lobbying money goes to Democrats and Republicans so you can bet that O’care and it’s hidden subsidy to insurance companies will be around for quite some time.

“Medicare for all”

Hey, why not? Let everyone have free healthcare. If those greedy rich 1% bastards would just pay their fair share of taxes, we could eliminate the deficit and pay for universal healthcare . . . .

NEVER FORGET:

Read an article from Tom Fife and a comment from thefife.

The ILLEGAL ALIEN IN CHIEF is happy with his results, but feining anger.
The Fabian Fascist and Arab-Kenyan would just love to rebuild the United States into a turd-world country, like his home country of Kenya.

Watch Glenn Beck with Trevor Loudon & his book "Barack Obama and the Enemies Within".
Then watch that 29 minute 13 seconds video Trevor Loudon- An Urgent (and chilling) Message for America.

We keep calling the demonrats idiots but they are miles ahead of us in the political game. I wish we had some real schemers in our party, for a change.(That presumes, of course the we have a party, which is debatable.)

I argue that we don't — those that claim any Republican are idiots.

Something like this?

Absolutely.

The reason they don't is not ignorance of their power, but that they agree with the direction we are going.

I have said for years that politicians encourage Judges to legislate what they secretly desire to be done, but they fear the backlash from the voters, the judges shield their true nature from being revealed.

All 50 Governors?
That's disappointing, and disparaging, but I think you may be "more right-er than wrong-er".

I mailed almost all 50 governors about using that plan to stop amnesty, most of the replies I got were "it's a federal matter".
