Good point, back-benchers versus those in positions of leadership. That’s why Cornyn’s win was not a huge loss to conservatives, because Cornyn is a follower, not a leader. If Ted Cruz or Mike Lee were Senate Majority leader, the Cornyn and those like him will follow the leadership.

I don't mind crazy as much as I mind a Lt. Governor that sidelines and kills conservative legislation. And that's what Dewhurst has done for years. He's a GOP liberal that runs the legislature with the help of the democrats. He even gives them chairmanships in the senate. Why?

If you vote for the liberal Dewhurst, you are a liberal.

He's also damn near irrelevant because he's one man.

WRONG! He's the minority leader. He's the liberal republican leadership. He has lots more power than a standard issue senator.

Ms. Margolies....The Clinton In-Law has lost!!! Sadly her butt took a serious spanking....actually...it was political slaughter. She now joins the sad ranks of Wendy Davis and Alex Sink as complete Democrat, Obamabot failures. And....goodness, all that Clinton help and assistance did her no good whatsoever. Ya think Hillary......is headed for a repeat of the Obama political killing act of 2008 in 2016!!! Geez....I wonder!!! Nah.....methinks Hillary ain’t gonna run, at the end of the day!!!

For the most part, those after McC aren’t after him merely because they hate nothing more in life than RINOs. Yes, he is a RINO, but, in case you hadn’t heard, McC is the minority leader, and the only way he can realistically be expected to be something other than majority leader if the GOP manages to not blow this election is if Grimes shows him the door.

Georgia looks like a run off will be between Perdue(nepotism) and Kingston.

I really was ZERO fan of Sunny Gin Perdue or good ol’boy. I can’t help but think the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree, so I will support Kingston.

I'm ok with him being the doorman at the No-Tell Motel in Bugtussle, KY.

Yes, and in place of a moderate republican who votes with the republicans 70% of the time, you now have a marxist senator who votes with you zero percent of the time. That is something to be proud of. In reality, it wasn't the conservatives who defeated him - there aren't that many in Mass. It was a high turnout election in a presidential year. I never thought he would be able to win in a general election since Mass. is liberal.

But he isn't going to lose the general election. Get a grip - you delusional scribes who can't seem to get a grip on the realities of politics is tiresome. Boehner is in a very republican district and he is not going to lose.

It is really hard to support the turtle of the Senate after all his attacks on conservatives.

If he could be dropped from his leadership roll in favor of Cruz or a conservative, then I will back off my assaults on him. If not, I will not shed a tear for him come November.

I wonder if he will be able to win without Conservative support. I wonder how many Democrat cross overs he had today.

The odds are good that McConnell will lose in Ky.
The odds are good that we will win the rest of the senate match ups .

Of course, if the GOPe’’s continue to trash conservatives, those odds
could change as well.

If he had been an honorable man, he would have not attacked Bevin with lies, would not have attacked conservatives, and once he realized he couldn’t beat the Democrat in November, he would have stepped down.

Mitch “the itch” is not honorable.

You don’t get it. You think Giuliani was a republican? You think Bloomberg was a republican? They were democrats but ran republican because it allowed them access.

McConnell is a democrat.

Grace,

are you really surprised McConnell won? You have posted several times that lead me to believe you are surprised. If you had been paying attention, there was evidence for quite a while that McConnell was going to win. I'm always surprised at surprised people. Yes, it was a closed primary. McConnell has won by 25%, more than the 20% that was predicted.

Boehner is still vulnerable in the election for the Speakership, though. Probably much more vulnerable than in his home district.

I'd be glad to see him demoted to the Chairman of the Committee for Recycling Used Toilet Paper.

Only the odds on the second of your wagers can be changed by the GOPe.

That should be the Free Republic, the Republican Party (or a new Constitution Party) motto. I am sick and tired of being sick and tired of the establishment get along moderates. They enjoy their parties, their gin, their pomp and circumstance, their Washington water. I hate them.

McConnell can still very well lose the general election. And I won't shed a tear if he does.

Thinking long term, it's obvious you can't have conservative governance with liberal leadership. He has to go, strategically speaking.
