“deeply flawed candidate”? Cuccinelli was a deeply flawed candidate?

Guess you didn’t notice all those RINOs who failed to support a good conservative candidate because they didn’t get the nomination for their RINO buddy, like Bill Bolling, Vince Callahan, Tom Davis, etc.

Guess that Republican unity stuff only applies when a RINO is the candidate.

The Virginia Republican Party has a long history of screwing the conservative candidate when one of their elites doesn’t get picked. Goes back to when Ollie North was shafted by John Warner and Marshall Coleman because he dared to challenge them and actually beat them in a vote from the people.

The lack of support for Cuccinelli by the Virginia GOPe does not diminish my view that he was a deeply flawed candidate. I know several strongly conservative women who sat out the election, not because of what members of the party elite said or did, but because of the campaign Cuccinelli ran. Plus, the Libertarian candidate most likely siphoned off enough votes from Cuccinelli to ensure McAuliffe’s victory.

The good news is that McAuliffe is term-limited to four years and the House of Delegates is still strongly conservative.
