When you’re standing in the check out line at the store call the Assemblyman at home and demand they get their butt down there to help you carry groceries.

A proposal to phase out the use of single-use plastic bags There is no such thing as a single use bag. They always are reused as trash bags, lunch bags, or storage bags.

Banning condoms?
Banning sandwich bags?
Banning protective LP album sleeves?
Oh, only banning disposable bags for consumers of store bought goods.
Well, the war on disposable plastics makes a good bumper sticker at least.

The cheap crud thin plastic bags (made from recycled milk cartons) are not reusable. They even fall apart getting the groceries from the check out to the car to the home.

I know!
Lets start making grocery bags out of something that's 100% organic, 100% recyclable, and comes from a renewable natural resource,.....

More CA loony tunes. You go to a grocery store there, and the state requires they charge you for a paper bag. Now they're outlawing plastic bags. They need to bag the loons coming up with all this BS.
At some point, the penalty for living in CA exceeds the benefit.

a remote island in the northern Pacific only to find a line of plastic particles Plastic "particles"?
In a "line" ?
Did they come from California bags?
Are they even bag particles at all?

Agree. I always use those bags at least twice. Cannot imagine how I ever got along without them. The world will have to cut down more trees to make paper bags. which doesn’t seem environmentally sound either. Or maybe we’ll end up weaving our own bags from local weeds as devolution continues.

I use them so much that I buy a big box of a few thousand at the restaurant supply every year or so.

Agree. I always use those bags at least twice. I have something called a "Bag Bag" It is a canvas bag that hangs over the door hinge. It is a storage bag for plastic bags, a small opening on the bottom so I can pull them out. Very convenient. I occasionally get paper bags, mainly to use them when I make french Fries. I never recycle paper bags.

They can grow genetically altered trees like row crops that can mature in <10 years, and customize them depending on whether you want to make lumber or woodpulp.
And those trees would love a chance to suck up some of that awful awful CO2 that’s supposedly killing the planet

The grocery stores should change the shape of the plastic bags and call them condoms.
