This story seems to have gotten very little coverage in the US press, the author and lack of facts likely the reason. For those who haven't seen the Newsweek article, the most incendiary accusation which other media have picked up
According to a senior former U.S. intelligence operative, a Secret Service agent who was enjoying a moment of solitude in Gore’s bathroom before the Veep arrived heard a metallic scraping sound. “The Secret Service had secured [Gore’s] room in advance and they all left except for one agent, who decided to take a long, slow time on the pot,” the operative recalled for Newsweek. “So the room was all quiet, he was just meditating on his toes, and he hears a noise in the vent. And he sees the vent clips being moved from the inside. And then he sees a guy starting to exit the vent into the room.”Did the agent scramble for his gun? No, the former operative said with a chuckle. “He kind of coughed and the guy went back into the vents.”
The agent knew the "intruder" was Israeli because he was wearing a Mossad t shirt I suppose. And the agent did nothing because that's Secret Service policy dealing with intruders into Vice Presidential quarters. I believe that.
Deal with it.

Pollard had provided intelligence to Israel relating to nearly every one of the key national security elements detailed in 18 USA Code 194 and, most particularly, had provided the Radio Signal Notations Manual, which contained details of how the United States collects signals intelligence as well as the known parameters of the systems used by the Soviet Union. The information would enable an adversary to avoid collection by American codebreakers and, if in the hands of a sophisticated adversary like the Soviets, would permit penetration of U.S. systems. Former CIA Director William Casey and others believed that the Israelis provided at least some of the stolen information to the Soviet Union in exchange for the expedited emigration of Russian Jews.Are there people spying for Israel in the US? Certainly.
Is the information going to be used for the benefit of Israel? Certainly.
Even if such usage causes benefit to Israel at the cost of harm to the US? I think so.
