Public outcry follows WND report on plans for U.S. military
An Obama administration plan to have U.S. military personnel oversee the construction of latrines for a Kenyan girls school has come to an abrupt halt, after WNDs exclusive report on the diversion of defense resources.
The U.S. Navy had been tasked with carrying out the project, which would have involved the construction of a building containing 16 female dry-pit latrines for the Mpeketoni Secondary School in Kenya, President Obamas home country, as first lady Michelle Obama once publicly put it.
The Naval Facilities Engineering Command on Tuesday terminated the project without explanation, issuing a notice simply declaring, This solicitation is hereby cancelled.
WNDs article prompted an outcry from readers, thousands of whom redistributed the piece via Twitter, Facebook, Pinterest and other social media. Many sent article links to their elected representatives, demanding congressional action on what they characterized as a misguided endeavor inappropriately and wastefully assigned to the U.S. Navy.
The report simultaneously came under attack from leftist groups such as People For the American Way.

Shouldn’t Bammy just be turning the girls over to the local Islamists?
The State Department will still be supplying Constitution toilet paper....

Support Free Republic much?
The loathsome 0bama continuing to show disrespect for our military.
I think I just figured out something after reading this article. Obama may be leaving after his term is up. Then he plans to run for president of Kenya. After that chief of the U.N.. Kind of makes sense in a way. If so we may see the backside of Obama after all, without having to go to Chicago and visit, think it was called Men’s World, his former hangout.
To president Zero, US Marines are for holding umbrellas for illegal immigrants.
US Navy swabbies are for digging latrines for Obama kinfolk in Africa.
It looks like the only ones Obama wants fighting and making war are Homeland Security, the BLM, ATF, IRS, EPA and other alphabet agencies he sics on Americans.
“...he plans to run for president of Kenya.”

“Latrine Building Around The World”
I think I read that. FSM 213.5BS?
Yup. I’m certain of it.
I suspect he actually does, but we just haven’t found out about it yet.
I wouldn’t put anything past this bastard.
Just showing yet more of his kind of “RESPECT” for our military personnel. What a piece of excrement he is.
If you can shed light on what is wrong with me providing FR with easy access to articles that clearly are of interest to its readers — an interests that I base on the responses of everyone except for, well, just you — I’d like to hear it. A logical explanation is welcome.
Just a guess, but Mr. Gunner’s objection might have something to do with the multitudinous ads that you see along with the article, and the dozen or so trackers that you don’t see (but are there nonetheless) on the WND site.
First, the articles are excerpted, driving traffic to a site where you are paid per hit.
You are USING Free Republic as free advertising. Not cool.
articles that clearly are of interest to its readers
If things that interest readers here were a consideration in your postings, you would maybe at least once note an article NOT WRITTEN BY YOURSELF as being of interest.
But no.. you merely use us for self promotion and free advertising.
Id like to hear it. A logical explanation is welcome.
Well, there you go.
For a reason.
As I’ve explained before, WND does not pay me per hit; I am a freelance journalist that sells my articles and I receive the same compensation regardless of whether a particular report gets six or 6,000 hits. Additionally, FreeRepublic itself actually blocks posters from uploading more than an excerpt from WND.com, as it respects WND’s rightful embrace of protections that copyright law offers.
Best wishes, humblegummybear. Please see my latest WND article — or should I say excerpt and link — which I am about to post right now.
A blog is still a blog.
And excerpting a blog is still a scumbag move.

That means "blogger" apparently.
I receive the same compensation regardless of whether a particular report gets six or 6,000 hits.
Guess you'll knock off excerpting then.

There you go pimping again. What a scummy fruitloop you turned out to be.
