And it won’t take effect until next year (unless it’s Medicaid).
Rip it.
Next we require the newly un-insured to be re-insured.
To re-insure the newly un-insured, they are required to pay extra charges to be re-insured.
The extra charges are required so that the original insured, who became un-insured, and then became re-insured, can pay enough extra so that the original un-insured can be insured for free.
There, I hope that this clarifies this issue once & for all.
If you are hired by a company, you have to take the insurance/make changes during open enrollment unless you have one of those "qualifying events".
Someone is going to take a lawyer and sue the insurance industry for making an end run around universal health insurance.
I should be able to buy health insurance whenever I want. And this is ridiculous. Your doctor and hospital is supposed to treat you free of charge because you missed a deadline you didn’t know about?
Looks like it.
Or invent one. They won’t check if its really a “qualifying event” and will be happy to take your money.
If they won’t, they will hear from a lawyer.
because of artificial government created “open enrollment” periods only last 3 months.
because um... id ont know
it’s like your car insurance company only thinks you need to buy car insurance in january, feb, or March.
Or your grocery store only letting you buy groceries one week per month
who needs to buy insurance all year anyway?
Who needs to sell anything, seriously?
With this restriction, we are headed for single payer and Republicans don’t an have answer to why people should be banned from buying health insurance year around?
What if people get sick between enrollment periods and they can’t pay? Ka-ching! The taxpayers pick up the tab.
“Or invent one. They wont check if its really a qualifying event and will be happy to take your money.”
Yep, they will...but don’t get too sick, or they might ask for verification of your “life event”.
How mjany millions will be without insurance as they are caught in this time gap?
Those who turn 26 & are no longer covered ‘by their parents’.
Those who change jobs—of any age.....
etc.
That’s okay, I’m not going to buy it then either.
There is no such thing as “health insurance” anymore.
“insurance” relies upon a very small minority of the risk pool drawing benefits.
What we have is socialized medicine... privatized or government run, it doesn’t matter.
You are better off paying out of pocket.
What good does health insurance do when you can’t find a doctor who won’t take you? Health insurance is okay if it is done the right way, which 0bamacare has not been.
Notice that in the big push for enrolling by March 31st this year there was no, none, nada, warning from Big Government officials that the next period began January 1 2015.
Why was that?
I’ll tell you, that was done as a warning of things to come; “By God, NEXT time you had damn well better LISTEN TO US when we tell you to enroll”.
Your post #4 is actually “pure brilliance” in terms of an explanation of the abomination called “Obozocare.”
The Invisible Hand would do it automatically. No fuss, no muss, no gov't involvement.
Oh I get the whole idea of an Open Enrollemnt period, but read the article a bit more closely...
Next Open Enrollment is 1.5 years away. November 2015 according to the posted article.
Even insurers normally had an annual enrollment period?!
Strike that ...reverse it...LOL.
Ahh....I didn’t see that. So the streak of bad to worse re: Obamacare remains unbroken.
