I don’t care what’s “allowed”. I have a motorcycle and I would NEVER take that risk. He gambled, he lost. That’s the way the mop flops. Suicide by motorcycle... End of story.

The poster doesn’t say that the victim is a relative. The poster doesn’t say why he posted it.
Those lanes are dangerous for any vehicle. I stay out of them when possible...
In fact, the lanes adjacent to the HOV/car pool lane are also very dangerous to be in when that lane is slow, and the HOV lane is moving at 75 mph....

Not to worry... I’m not going to do that. I don’t ride on the freeway. Riding is fun, but riding the freeway is kind of like flying your ultralight aircraft into an international airport.

Then that would explain why you didn't know that the furthest left lane is the safest lane for Motorcyclists.
BTW, ride a bike on any roads in S. CA are dangerous and just tempting fate...I’ve ridden MC’s of all types since I was 7 years old... Finally gave up street riding before I went under someone’s wheels....Now it’s only dirt bikes in the dirt/off road.
It’s just become way too deadly on the streets/fwys...

Seems pretty freaking self-explanatory to me. If you have no interest in cops or accidents, then go merrily on your way instead of clogging this thread up with your inane commentary.
Every state I’ve ridden in that has car pool lanes allows it. Here in Washington the signs say, “Cars with two or more passengers only. Motorcycles OK”.
If this accident doesn’t concern you, then get off the thread.
