It is not the federal government’s business to engage in charity. Of any kind whatsoever.
If the fedgov were not engaging in areas beyond what is Constitutionally mandated as its duty, the states could deal properly (or improperly) with what is the states’ business.

It is not the governments job to “care” about people. The governments job is to do what it is told; and nothing more.
It is the people’s job to make sure the governemnt leaves them alone; and only governs as needed.
Singapore government does not care about poor people also!
There is no food stamps, no unemployment, no welfare for able bodied adults!
Guess what? There are NO POOR PEOPLE in Singapore. Their economy is booming. Their unemployment is MINUS 40%. For those in Rio Linda that means they have 40% more jobs than citizens of Singapore of working age.
Those 40% (2 million) jobs are filled by foreign workers on 2 year work permits.
