Pauls are very good at winning straw polls.

Do they bus in college kids for these things?

Ru Paul’s expiration date has passed. He might get more votes in the DNC primary against Shillary.

what a floundering rino he (Rand) has become

Gosh, I don't know. Someone described him as the Howard Dean of the Republican Party. He's all over the place, not always rational in his choices, but sure does shake things up.

It just might be that people across the political spectrum are totally fed up and don't want to be told who they're supposed to vote for.

Cruz beat Christie, Jeb, and Ryan. That's good. I doubt the Rand Paul votes would have one of those three as their second choice. So in a way this is real good news.

Happy smoke polls? What’s that? Did the Paulistas pipe in marijuana smoke at a polling place or something?

Not surprising. I have always thought it a little strange that “libertarians” are at heart big-government people; they just want the government to approve of whatever it is they want to do, which is usually something involving drugs. They want no moral restrictions on anything. Paul has already said that the GOP has got to abandon the “social issues,” by which I assume he means opposition to abortion and opposition to the destruction of marriage, so of course he’s going to be popular in Maine and popular with liberals.

What’s he shaking up?

He campaigns for Romney, McConnell, Susan Collins, moves left on abortion and gay marriage, and social issues, the border, he seems fairly typical for a weak and floundering republican.

I think Rand Paul is establishing a position for pure political reasons regarding his electability.

He is using the rhetoric from what has been successful among democrats over the years.

He is going after the middle.

To capture the middle, he needs to tease them with “perfectly vague” statements.

If you go back six months or a year you would not find him making these statements.

He is going to run for President and is building his “history” on inclusion.

See, we conservatives actually care about what people say.

Liberals and many in the middle don’t.

They hear what they want to hear and will vote for the guy that gives them the one thing that they care about. They will disagree with 90% of what is said, but vote for him either way.

Conservatives, on the other hand, will reject a candidate for the 10%, while agreeing with the balance.

I think what people say should be held in the highest regard. But that is me.

I hate politics and I think most Conservatives hate politics. We want the un-nuanced positions that provide a sense of certainty.

Our culture has changed.

Do you think the average college kid is going to vote for a hard core republican?

These kids are passionate in their ability to shut down the conservative opposition.

Rand Paul is not stupid.

I am confident that he knows the difference between what it takes to get elected and the statements he makes to do so.

BTW, I’d rather see Ted Cruz or Scott Walker running than Paul.

But that’s just me.

We’ve done this conservative vs. Libertarian argument before.

I still contend that the libertarian is the only possible winner in 2016.

Meaningless. Too many white voters in Maine. Paul is not impressed.

Libertarians war against conservatism, that is Rand Paul’s war.

Romney won hugely with Independents.

Paul has made liberal statements before the last 6 months, remember that he was a big supporter of Mitt Romney and campaigned for him.

Ok, I know, I know.

None of what he says matters.

He is running for President in 2016.

It’s the platitudes that get elected in our retarded culture.

So, while Rand Paul “speaks” about immigration he holds dear to “States rights”.

The middle doesn’t understand “States rights”.

What was it that Reagan said about “Abortion”, legal but rare.

Personally, I am whole hardheartedly against abortion. I am against gay marriage.

What Rand Paul is doing, what he is saying, is that whatever you believe is fine, but you need not look to the Federal Government for answers.

2ndDivisionVet has no money. Or if he does he's a liar.

When he was begging for help, I sent him $20.00 and he never even thanked me.

Even when I brought it up he denied it.

Not saying he's full of shite...just draw your own conclusions.

In fact, after I sent him $20 and inquired if he got it, he sent me an email asking for even more...still no note of thx.

What????? The strong pro-life president Reagan who is a hero to the pro-life movement and who wrote a book on abortion in 1983?

And what is this nonsense about the "federal government" Rand Paul is running to head the federal government, that means gay marriage in the military and federal employment, and immigration, and abortion in federal hospitals and on military bases.

What are you trying to sell?

Reagan, Yes, pro life, however he was actually responsible for much of what has become of the entire abortion industry.

His greatest regret.
