I’m thinking of girls forced into prostitution in Southeast Asia. Some are the sole support of their families.
Would they have been better off to starve than to endure the depravity of that life? Would you starve, and let your families starve?
It’s in God’s hands. Speaking of which, I wonder whether a gang-banger has as much hope of Heaven as a 19th century Christian slave.
After which I hasten to add that slavery is an atrocity, never accceptable under any circumstances. I am not advocating the return of slavery. I just wonder.
In my humble opinion, anyone who defends slavery is an enemy of freedom.
