IN defense of Paul in this case, he has been posting about the situation and the government overreach. He acted quickly to draw a line between the situation with the BLS and the rancher's words to minimize any political attacks.

There's no shortage of Republicans willing to sell out on any and every issue just to show the media how opposed to "racism" they are. They've sold out on immigration, and now they've sold out in opposing Federal land grabs because some of those landowners might be dread "racists."

We've come to the point where making some tactless but not entirely inaccurate remarks about blacks is perceived as a greater offense by members of both parties than the Federal Government arbitrarily robbing people of their property and livelihood.
