Probably because she isn’t really his aunt.
Should have been done years ago while she was still alive and living in the US illegally.
He must go to the golf course during times others attend religious gathering cause he does a lot of praying there!
Hey NYT, just for sh*ts & giggles pretend for a moment this in 2007 and the deceased GW Bush’s aunt.
Had he seen fit to attend the funeral, he would of course, been photographed with alleged family members, reminding the world again of his rather mysterious provenance. RIP, Aunt Zeituni.
Contrast his total lack of class to Ronald Reagan who asked his incompetent predecessor to be the first to greet our returning hostages from Iran, in effect letting Carter take public credit for cleaning up a mess of his own creation even though most of the country knew better.
Six summer visits to the Vineyard and he never invited her once, letting her swelter in Boston.
Hmmm, I wonder if anyone had Aunt Zeituni in Howie Carr’s death pool?
In the past she may have been but she was not in the last one
For once I agree with him. If he went, it would disturb the funeral big time and we’d all be saying what a narcissistic person he is - making his aunt’s death all about him.
Maybe he sent flowers? :)
She was no longer of any use to Bath House, so what’s the big deal?
” closest relatives gathered her belongings at her nearby apartment”
Huh?
That’s what I think.
Maybe she was his aunt and maybe not.
It is interesting though that he cares not a whit for his blood kin.
But, to show respect, he didn’t have to go golfing during the funeral. But then, he has no respect for anything.
B0 Soebarkah doesn’t do funerals. He has a vice-president for that.
He didn’t even acknowledge the passing of his sister in Indonesia.
Granny Dunham got the “Big Lebowski” sendoff in Hawaii.
That’s par for the course —
Anybody with a “bad” side of the family can appreciate the fine line between honoring your own and inviting them into your life. He acknowledged her passing, helped with funeral expenses, sent sympathies and flowers. I don’t care for the man and am not pleased that he’s President at all, let alone a two term President. But he’s done nothing wrong in this instance. Critics are getting carried away. There are ample targets of criticism with the Obama administration, but this isn’t one of them.
