Not meaning to be cruel but when the career, writings and real accomplishments of Sotomayor are examined, it is the prototypical case study of affirmative action. It pads statistics and assuages white guilt but almost nothing worthwhile is achieved.
It was predicted that she would bring nothing to the bench. No brilliance of thought. No intelligent reasoning. Just someone who is taking up space.
However, her thought process in this instance is difficult to understand. Can you imagine a court full of people like her?

The reality is that minorities should welcome the end of AA. As it is, the truly competent minorities who obtain significant achievements often don't get the respect they deserve because it's assumed they are less qualified folks who got there through affirmative action.
