I expect serial killers, spree killers, and mass murderers to be white based on statistics, but my reaction is completely independent of their religion of skin color. When the two nutcase snipers were shooting people near DC ten or so years ago, I supported the death penalty before and after I knew they were black. With this shooter, I again support the death penalty, whether he is Muslim or a born again Christian saddled with a name his parents thought would be cool.

If it had been the latter he would have had a name like Dumohammed or Treymohammed.

No... From my last readings of the BJS and FBI UCR stats, white offenders in multiple victim homicides have not been the majority for about two decades.

If you average out the last 35 or so years you’ll see white offenders coming in at about 53% or so, but the trends flipped in the late 80’s and early 90’s and for all of recent memory the majority of offenders in multiple victim homicides have been represented by another demographic.

Granted, you do need to dig through the stats to find that (you’re more likely to find 15 pages on weapon use than a single paragraph on offender demographics in this category), and you’ll never hear it in common public discourse since it runs against the grain of socially acceptable myth. I guess people need something to shout “We’re #1!” about?
