Idaho has lots of land tied up by the feds. The state government receives Payment In Lieue of Taxes from the feds as compensation for property taxes that can’t be collected from land owners that can’t own the land. The AUM suspension strikes me as a 5th amendment “taking without just compensation”. Your capital has been seized and made illiquid and unproductive. Government fueled inflation is eroding its value. You have a valid claim of economic harm.
It would be interesting to see a state try to take over federally owned lands by eminent domain and cite the Kelo decision in their case to do so....
