I learned to count in the Maryville city schools, the Tennessee Republican said. We have 45 Republicans, and it takes 60 senators to pass anything thats important. So you have to work with people on the other side to get a result. And I think thats whats expected of me. Im conservative, but I think my job is to solve problems and get results.
It may take 60 votes to pass a bill into law, but this only applies if the bill is likeable by President Obama and thereby avoids his veto.
However, it only takes 41 votes to keep bad legislation from passing. Having 45 Republicans does not mean that we have 41 conservative votes. Senator Alexander has not shown himself sufficiently willing to be one of those 41 votes.

For those in Rio Linda, “bipartisanship” is when the Republicans drop their drawers and bend over for the DemocRATS.

Lamar voted for Sonia Sotomayor.
For some of the judges Democrats will only need Lamar’s vote to ram through Obama’s nominees.

If I wanted “bipartisanship” I'd place a check next to the RAT'S name *as well* as his/her/its opponent.

“U.S. Sen. Lamar Alexander said ... Itll take a bipartisan coalition to pass anything.

So you have to work with people on the other side to get a result.
We would rather not have anything passed than to have you “pass anything” Reid, Schumer, and Soetoro put in front of you, Jerk. We don’t like your “results”.
Go back to Maryville and count your fingers and toes there, because you don’t seem to grasp that you’re bankrupting us.

There are no “bipartisan” democrats. Sen. Alexander and his fellow establishment repubs are fools.
