US Communists Shill for Russia Over Ukraine Submitted by Trevor on April 18, 2014 – 3:08 am EST

Brian Becker

Two groups have been most actively supporting “there is no such thing as an ex-Chekist,” Vladimir Putin’s naked aggression in the Ukraine.

They are Western communists, who hate the West and still see Russia as a force for socialism and anti-Americanism, and some naive Western “conservatives” like commentator Pat Buchanan and actor Steven Segal, who seem to believe that Comrade Putin is a closet Christian bent on defending Western values and saving Europe from the Islamic hordes. These naifs seem to have no idea that Mr. Putin’s KGB/FSB comrades have long manipulated those Islamic hordes against the West and have attacked our values at every opportunity for more than 90 years.

The communists must be laughing up their sleeves as they dupe self deluding “conservatives” like Buchanan and Segal into cheerleading their own destruction.

Here’s one such Western communist — Brian Becker of the Party for Socialism and Liberation.

Interviewed on Kremlin propaganda channel RT (formerly Russia Today), Comrade Becker does a splendid job of obscuring the truth and spreading lies and disinformation on Moscow’s behalf.

And also remember that BOTH Gorbachev and Putin came from the Andropov camp. Gorbachev as an aide who Andropov recommended replace him as Chairman, Putin as part of the “Andropov Levy”, bringing in younger, new thinking as reformers into the KGB.

This is silliness. Is part of the reform throwing people head first out of windows rather than feet first? Gorbachev and the rest merely supervised the perestroika deception. The seeming liberalization of the USSR was being planned as early as the 1950s, and was predicted by KGB defectors in advance to its actual happening. What happened in Russia was a redux of Lenin's NEP, take 2 steps back, one step forward, as part of a larger strategy to disarm the west ideologically.

Real reform of that country requires full decommunization and dismantling of the soviet structures that put Putin into power.

Pushing a Christian line, even if it is not sincerely, is a better deal than attacking Christianity on all fronts. I don’t know why Putin’s intentions are anyone’s business in America. Bottom line is US has managed to establish a unique socioeconomic system at the time, but going to blow it hijacking a sort of Commintern from the Soviets after their collapse. Yet, instead of fighting for the Republic and holding your governmeent accountable for sprearing economic and cultural socialism at home and elsewhere, people are questioning a foreign leader’s values, are they sincere or not. Being a ‘thug’ or a ‘false Christian’ Putin does a better job for freedom by just publicly calling to faith and criticising Marxism than all the Western politicians who are pushing for Islam, welfare state and homosex, even if he is not sincere.

Sorry, but I disagree, Russia is evil, it's KGB dictator is evil, and America is good, our temporary president from the opposition party can be overcome in 2016.

When have the Russian people been good?

When have the Russian people and the Orthodox church, ever inspired the world, not conquered them, inspired them?

I don’t see any benefits from insincere Christianity either. It’s why so many of those who defend Putin or say he’s a defender of Christianity must ignore his personal wealth (possibly the richest man in the world) that was stolen from his nation.

“This is silliness.”

This isn’t history?
I take it you haven’t spent much time on recent Russian history.
Andropov didn’t recommend Gorby as his replacement?

Or is this all just history you would choose to rewrite?

They have supported American independence at the time in was really needed.
They also contained muslim hordes for centuries.
Not to mention Russia is situated in a neighborhood not particularly friendly to ‘good’ people.

~and America is good, our temporary president from the opposition party can be overcome in 2016~

I really hope so and wish you best luck.

Well, you kind of missed the point.

Russians are proven to be born slaves and mass murderers, which is a bad combination, and a reflection on Putin’s/Russia’s church.

As an American, I know better, but Russians don’t, I still think that we could free you people.

Good gosh, Andropov, just get to the point, what did your college instructor tell you?

~Russians are proven to be born slaves and mass murderers, which is a bad combination~

Nice to hear once again. Let them hear it more often from Americans and then wonder where the anti-Americanism comes from:-)
These statements are especially nice combined with a support for anti-Russian muslim groups by certain politicians.

So freerepublic is some how studied and reported on by the Russian political system, and it supports anti-Russian Islam claims by “certain politicians” of Russia.

Gosh, you are so convincing.

Nevermind, I got your point, ansel12.

We get your point as well, sign up at FR in March, and defend Russian military operations.

I have one with the ones who claim, "Putin stands for Christianity, mom, and apple pie."

Vlad stands for Christianity, Anna Chapman, and the Renewed Russian Empire! In reverse order.

Are you saying such negative stereotypes about Russians as a culture are not prompted by the past and present actions of Russians?

“I don’t know who are you , WhiskeyX. You are free to think that you wish.”

I’m the person who read what you wrote previously when you said:

“Nice to hear once again. Let them hear it more often from Americans and then wonder where the anti-Americanism comes from:-)”
“These statements are especially nice combined with a support for anti-Russian muslim groups by certain politicians.”

Your comments appear to be implying the stereotype depicting Russians as “born slaves and mass murderers” has no basis in reality and therefore justifies Russians to adopt an anti-American attitude in response to the use of such a stereotype in the discussions on this forum. Is this what you want us to understand you choose to mean in your comments?

‘Us’? Are you a collectivist and can’t speak for yourself or just teaming up there?
I’ve no intention to elaborate, think for yourself, FRiend.

“‘Us’? Are you a collectivist and can’t speak for yourself or just teaming up there?”

Using a strawman argument like that to evade the question about the intended meaning for your earlier comments has the appearance of propaganda, because your comment presumptuously tries to make it appear as though such criticism of Russians is unwarranted by the facts.

“I’ve no intention to elaborate, think for yourself, FRiend.”

Firstly, you are being presumptuous in calling me “FRiend.”

Secondly, your having no “intention to elaborate” is consistent with your disseminating pro-Russian propaganda on FR rather than freely debating Russian issues on FR. If you are going to run and hide from criticism of your own comments supporting Russia while making your own anti—American criticism, your comments will appear to amount to pro-Russian war propaganda. If that is how you want to leave it, then don’t be surprised by the reaction you get from your critics in this forum.

I don’t think that an idea of the whole nation as a ‘slaves’ and ‘mass murderers’ ever worth discussion.
What ‘anti-American criticism’ are you talking about? I haven’t even thought a thing anti-American, it seems like another ones are spreading hate her.
