Shouldn't all the other scientists be conducting their own research and experiments, clamoring to try and disprove it?

1. Those "other scientists" have difficulty getting funding to match that given to the activists
2. There is a problem trying to disprove an assertion which takes decades to show up and when the activists try to blame 'global warming' for everything, even very-cold winters. The activists are also quick to blame any negative trends as just being a short-term fluctuation.
