A day after reports that House Speaker John A. Boehner is telling fundraisers he is determined to get an immigration bill done this year, the Ohio Republican’s spokesman walked those comments back slightly, saying any action will still depend on President Obama.
“Nothing has changed. As he’s said many times, the Speaker believes step-by-step reform is important, but it won’t happen until the president builds trust and demonstrates a commitment to the rule of law,” said Brendan Buck, a Boehner spokesman.
Early this year Mr. Boehner released a series of principles for a broad immigration overhaul, and it seemed like the issue was poised for a resurgence. But those hopes were dashed as Mr. Obama took unilateral steps to delay deadlines and change interpretations of his health law — leaving many House Republicans to say they feared he would do the same thing with an immigration law.
Mr. Boehner has also adopted that stance, including in an interview with Fox News earlier this month.
“Every time the president ignores the law, like the 38 times he has on Obamacare, our members look up and go, ‘Wait a minute: You can’t have immigration reform without strong border security and internal enforcement. How can we trust the president to actually obey the law and enforce the law that we would write?’” the speaker said.

Obama has already used an EO to have a backdoor amnesty for the Dreamers. 1.8 million are eligible and 500,000 have applied and been approved including issuing work permits and SSNs. Obama should be impeached on that action alone. And we have the fewest deportations since 1982.
No one reallay knows what the leader ship is up to. You have to fear for the worse and hope for the best. In the meantime keep calling these people. I just contacted McCarthy’s office and got a lot of bs. They were adamant that there was not going to be an amnesty but of course they made their principles which wasn’t amnesty. They are telling everyone what they want to hear which may be the best game if they are trying to run the clock out. But, still keep those calls going in case.

If the game plan is to “build trust” with the Current Occupant now squatting in the White Hut, it ain’t gonna happen. Not now, not ever. There is no common ground on which to build “trust” or even a wary and rough alliance.
The Current Regime has made this clear over and over, and what part of the message they may have failed to adequately communicate, they left in the hands of Harry Reid. No matter what the House may pass, once it gets to the Senate, it shall die in committee. For at least as long as the House is in Republican control.

Boehner and Obama will probably try to get this done during the lame duck session. The illegal alien/open borders lobbies are getting impatient about getting their money’s worth.
Boehner really needs to lay off the Booze...com’on man resign already, get in AA or just go away.

I sent my RINO Mike Grimm a message saying I would actively campaign against him if he votes for amnesty or I thought he was going to do so after the election. The predictions of a Republican landslide can cut both ways. I don’t give a damn about whether what I do helps elect a Democrat because the Republicans are going to win anyway - maybe just not my little RINO puke.
