BUMP
Don’t worry...i have every confidence that the gop-e has ordered enough concrete to repair any fracture in the dnc coalition.
We hear this noise about “cracks in the dems’ coalition” every election cycle, but if there’s one thing where the dems truly excel, it’s patching up the differences and pulling together in time to win elections.
Repubs, on the other hand, would rather destroy each other for the fleeting satisfaction of saying “See? We told you that guy couldn’t win the general election!”
Dem prospects are still rosier than those of the Republicans; their base (working whites) is steadily dwindling in numbers, and they are unable to detach any groups from the party of freebies.
As Obama has demonstrated by ignoring the white working class for five years without consequences, the Republicans are a party of the past.
The Democrat version of immigration reform (amnesty) is at odds with the interests all working class Americans including rank-and-file union members who have the most to lose. Ten to 15 million new residents will inflate the labor force, drive down wages and make union busting easier.
Progressives are experts a spinning and will pull it out for themselves and the hardcore-fourty-percent-and-steadily-growing base.
