If money is any indication, a prominent Baltimore doctor with no political experience is an early front-runner in the 2016 U.S. presidential race.
A group encouraging retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson to run for president raised $2.4 million in the first three months of this year, more than the group backing Hillary Clinton or those affiliated with Rand Paul, Marco Rubio and other potential candidates, according to filings with the Federal Election Commission.
Carson, 62, has emerged as a prominent African-American conservative commentator. He appears regularly on Fox News and writes a weekly column for the conservative Washington Times newspaper.
Carson's spokesman says he is not interested in running for president and he is not affiliated with the National Draft Ben Carson for President Committee.

I’m not sure Dr. Carson has all the right stuff for the presidency yet, but I’d be happy with him in a cabinet post or advisory capacity in 2016.
However, what we all want may be a moot point since we don’t really know if he would want to run for president. He might just want to continue heckling from the sidelines. And we could always use hecklers.
I totally agree and don’t believe he really is interested in running for president.
With this 0bamacare mess he could be quite helpful to a president Cruz, like you say as an advisor.
Wow! That’s some impressive fund-raising, and I would be honored to vote for him. But the man has already said that he is not interested.
It would be great to see him run for Congress for Maryland, as I am confident he could win. I don’t know if he is completely against such a run.
