Prohibition did reduce drinking and drunkenness. It was repealed due to a massive PR campaign. Chicago is as corrupt and violent today as it was in Capone's time.

It is also possible to drink 6 or 8 beers a week with no long term neurological issues.

The evidence is that even occasional pot use contributes to psychosis and PERMANENT intellectual impairment.

Anyone who has spent time around dopers knows they are often 6 bricks short of a load.A drunk can get sober and become a fairly normal person as stoner non-high still talks: “Like, uh, you know, I sorta think, well maybe, what was the question?” Even when they haven’t used for years.
