These events will only increase as our society disintegrates. The cop each time he investigates is faced with a person who believes he has “RIGHTS” usually vague and unspecified in the mind of the person being stopped. The cop is then caught in a double bind. Basically, the police should ignore anything but the most violent acts. Kind of leaving people with their “RIGHTS” and the consequences thereto.

Correction - the person stopped doesn’t “believe he has rights”, the person HAS rights, regardless of his beliefs.

I don’t know if you intended, but you sound like this cop in the article:

“I was faced with a person in his home who believed he had rights. I took that as agressive action and proceeded to kick his ever-loving @ss!”

Back when we were under the Constitution , the person did have rights. Among them was the presumption of innocence.
