Kudos for your perceptive comment.

On yesterday's thread I posted basically the same observation....and then a couple posters jumped all over me with snark..."flip the dial", "go away". Guess they don't like honest opinions posted on FR, just going-along to get-along.

Rush's show yesterday was awful...no show prep, no topical issues, just "tabloid" (Colbert, Hill and Bill dancing on the beach, Waffle House, etc.).

When Rush takes a lot of phone calls in mid-week, you know he's just going to be filling in time...which he did yesterday....and is doing today. The phone calls yesterday prompted a lot of standard Rush rants, good rants, but the same stock ideological ones he pulls out of the old hat when the gray cells in his head run dry, and there's nothing new on his "stack of stuff" for the day.

Don't even get me started on the Bundy issue, the one, of course, he hasn't touched with a ten-foot pole. It's just a deliberate snub to his listeners for some unknown reason, and therefore, disappointing to the max.

I've been fortunate to have been able to listen to Rush daily for about 22 years, live or on tape. He's always been my mentor...and he's one of the best things that ever happened to this country.

But I (and I'm sure others) get nervous when he appears off his edge or to be playing things safe. I don't have to amplify, most Rush-folks know exactly what I mean.

Today's show is just as boring and just as void of any breaking news or any new insights as was yesterday's show. I hoped he'd lead with the Cattle Battle, the Ukraine, whatever, but it looks like just more stock stuff today. You're correct, Nutmeg, I think he needs some time off to re-organize his objectives in the fast-moving political news world.

Same here, I'm a long-time El Rushbo fan. I understand Rush may have a "down" day here and there, but man, his head seems to be elsewhere on a great many days lately, and it's disconcerting. There's substantive news breaking all over on a daily basis, and he's talking about Bubba Watson, Waffle House, old Clinton stuff and pop culture crap? What's going on, Rush?

Geez, now he's talking about Oprah, and the guy who sings "Happy". Then back to his extensive discussion from Monday (I forgot to mention this above) about Claire Shipman, and her new book and life at home with Jay Carney and kids. :-(

Why not ONE mention of the Cattle Battle?? Very strange.

its not that people don’t like honest opinions

its that your ONLY ‘honest opinion’ are gripes

i gave MY ‘honest opinion’ of you - but not ALL ‘honest opinions’ should be stated - for example - all of my honest opinion of you was not stated - nor does it have to be stated

its also distasteful that you now pull the martyr card
