GOP legislation would cut off Holder's salary

A Republican lawmaker has introduced legislation that would cut off pay to Attorney General Eric Holder and other federal officials who have been held in contempt of Congress.

Rep. Blake Farenthold, R-Texas, introduced the "Contempt Act" on Tuesday, less than a week after alluding to the measure during a contentious House Judiciary Committee hearing where Holder faced criticism from GOP lawmakers.

"The American people should not be footing the bill for federal employees who stonewall Congress or rewarding government officials’ bad behavior," Farenthold said in a statement. "If the average American failed to do his or her job, he or she would hardly be rewarded."

Under the proposal, the contempt resolution would have to be adopted by either the House or Senate for the official to lose their pay. The GOP-led House voted in 2012 to hold Holder in contempt for failing to provide key information on Operation Fast and Furious.

Best way to get rid of Holder is to call Clevis Bundy and his rancher friends, cowboys all and REMOVE him. If enough people stood on the door step of the Federal Court House and demanded Holder be turned over, I would anticipate this would be resolved.

This is what you do when you don’t have the balls to impeach anyone

The GOP needs to start making impeachment/removal of Holder a campaign issue.

The media convinced them that impeaching Clinton was a bad political move.

The only way it's a campaign issue is if the actually DO SOMETHING! If the HOR defunds every damn cent that goes to anything Holder runs, and it happens, then there's an issue. Otherwise it's just more of "all talk-no action-let's pretend we care so we can win again".

Never forget. NOT ONE of our supposed contsitutional conservatives had the instincts to stand with the Bundy family. Not one of them has said those BLM stormtroopers should be on our southern border, protecting US citizens and our territory from invasion. NOT ONE has been outraged that they Bundy family was assaulted.

They want a campaign issue? Then they should accomplish something.

Before giving yourself a power, you should always think about how this power would be abused by your enemies in the future.

I seriously doubt that Holder (or anyone in DC with power) gives a rip about their salary being withheld. They are millionaires within one year of arriving there.

The media also convinced them that the republicans ‘lost’ the government shutdown when clinton was in office- in fact I barely remember there WAS a shutdown, and the balanced budget at the end of clinton’s term makes me almost wish we had him back.

(as much as I hated that slimeball rapist)

You can’t cut them off... you don’t know where all they’re getting it.
