Ike was legendary for his modesty. Somehow an immense taxpayer boondoggle of a monument with “80-foot-tall pillars” just doesn’t seem to fit the man, great as he was.

Give the job to that Chinese sculptor who turned Martin Luther King Jr. into a 30 foot high Chairman Mao in D.C. Done with Chinese rock and labor.
I am joking as Eisenhower was a great WWII leader and even better as president. He did most of his leadership behind the scenes and gathered a good staff & cabinet members. Most of his policies well served our nation and kept us strong for many years, even after he left office.
