Known Terrorist Killers Free From GITMO While We Have Soldiers Locked Up In Leavenworth!
Beverly Perlson Of The Band Of Mothers | April 15, 2014 | SeekTheTruth

Thanking you in advance for reading and helping our soldiers!

Below is a beautiful email sent by Michael Behenna. He is finally home and thank you to all who helped him through calls you made and letters you wrote on his behalf.

Michael is right, the fight is not over. We still have Sons locked up in Leavenworth who need our help. I had the good fortune to visit with Sgt Derrick Miller at Leavenworth this past weekend. I am astounded, after meeting this truly good man, that anyone in their right mind can justify keeping him locked away. I have no doubt Derrick was a good Soldier! Derrick is a good man and a proud man, and he needs our help. There are very disturbing circumstances in Derrick's case involving coercion of the two witnesses (both gave statements that there was a struggle with a gun before Derrick shot Atta Mohammed, son of Mohammed Akbar, (and please note, at trial political correctness dictated that his name not be used, he was referred to as the Afghan man); after CID got involved both witness removed the word "struggle" out of their statements! Spc Charles Miller was told he would be charged with accessory to murder if he left the word "struggle" in his statement; the other witness, and Afghan interpreter, was paid handsomely for his revised statement: $630 per month and promised a Visa to live in the US and, in fact, an officer brought him to Chicago to see if he would like living here, before the trial! It also appears Derricks right to due process was violated. The body of Atta Mohammed was turned over to the family and there were never any forensics done on his hands nor to this head. No forensics on the gun and given that Derrick said there was a struggle with the gun, those forensics could have validated Derrick's testimony that he shot Mohammed in self defense.

I listened to Derrick this past weekend and the base he was on where this incident occurred, was expecting attacks, they were on high alert. 20 minutes after Derrick shot Mohammed Atta the base was attacked and many of Derrick's Soldiers believed that Derrick's actions had saved lives during that attack. Everyone had moved from their position! One thing that haunts me is that Mohammed Atta told Derrick that American Soldiers had killed his brother. Hmmm...Derrick believed Mohammed and his sons were walking the perimeter preparing for the coming attack on our Soldiers. He said he was there to fix a water pump, Derrick said where's your tools?? No tools, then he said he was there to fix a generator, no tools. Gee, maybe he and his sons were there to scout all positions of Soldiers and their weapons so he could give the Taliban enough info to blow up all the Soldiers on that base, avenge his brothers death. Sure wish we could find out who is brother was!

I am in the process of setting appointments with Maryland Congressman as that is where Derrick and his mother are from. In fact, Derrick's mom lives in Chris Van Hollen's district and he has agreed to meet with us for 20 minutes on April 29th. Until then, please call your Congressman and Senators and ask them to support Clemency for Derrick. Folks, if this case were held in civilian court, with the destruction of the evidence in this case, I believe the conviction would be thrown out. Please help us fight for Derrick and for that matter all the guys in Leavenworth. I think the best argument for all our Sons is that since Obama keeps releasing terrorists, it is only right that he release our Sons too. What is good enough for the terrorists, should be good enough for our Sons!

You can also support Derrick by sending him letters, money orders (he has two daughters he loves dearly), books...please visit http://www.derrickmiller.org/support/ to see what you can do to help him.

All you radio folks out there, I'm sure Derrick Miller's mom would appreciate your support and would be happy to tell her Son's story on your radio show. And as a last resort, you can write a letter to the President, let him know that if he had a Son, he would look like Derrick Miller! Ask for Clemency for this good Soldier who did what he was taught to do, protect his Brothers, and for that he was given a life sentence! Thank You Beverly Perlson The Band of Mothers http://www.derrickmiller.org/

To All My Supporters, Sweet Freedom - a right that should never be taken for granted! It has been one month since I was released from prison and I have savored every moment of my freedom from behind those iron bars. Everything about life on the outside is so much more wonderful than I even imagined it would be. For the past four weeks I have taken each day as a gift to be cherished – spending it with my family and friends and doing the things I want to do when I want to do them. For the first sixty days of my parole I am required to live at my parent’s house. This is a good thing because it allows me to catch up on my mother’s home cooking which I receive in fair trade for working her long neglected flower beds. Every day I go to the stables to ride a horse named Sue who is as stubborn as Shannon is (Sue has bucked me off twice, but I’m convinced I’m growing on her) and have even put in time fishing on the river. I continue to read and to soak up the blessings of my life. At the end of the month I will participate in a 3-day cow calf course in Shawnee where I will get my first taste of life as a rancher. The only thing that taints my newfound joy is when I think about those I left behind at Fort Leavenworth. In prison this small group of men and I became a band of brothers who had all experienced war in its most real form. These honorable men fought for their country and did not deserve what they were given for their service. I was fortunate to have the support structure that I had or I would still be in prison to this very day. I humbly ask that you give the same support to them that you gave to me. When I was behind bars my favorite time of day was without exception when the mail was delivered to my cell. I remember receiving cards and letters from you and the encouragement I felt knowing that I was not forgotten. It transformed despair into hope. These are good men whom I got to know personally and I vouch for every one of them. If not for the untenable positions put upon them in the heat of battle they would never have seen the inside of a prison. They need your prayers, your cards, your letters, magazines and books, and your donations for their legal fight for freedom against a military justice system that is short on justice and long on political correctness. As a convicted felon I am not allowed to contact any of these men and so I ask that you do so for me. They are each a cause worth fighting for. The stories of John Hatley, Joseph Mayo, Michael Leahy, Derrick Miller, Cory Clagett, Michael Williams, and Clint Lorance can be found on the website http://www.click.icptrack.com/icp/relay.php?r=61901338&msgid=688286&act=K24B&c=515316&destination=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.L10freedomride.com. I saw a video recently where an elderly man said, “You think this is just another day in your life? It's not just another day. It's the one day that is given to you today. It's given to you. It's a gift. It's the only gift that you have right now, and the only appropriate response is gratefulness. If you do nothing else but to cultivate that response to the great gift that this unique day is, if you learn to respond as if it were the first day in your life and the very last day, then you will have spent this day very well.” I am trying to live my life like that – where I see each day as a gift of freedom and where my only response to that gift is gratitude. To each one of you I want to express my deepest gratitude for giving me this incredible gift through your countless acts of kindness and support. Praise God Almighty, I Am Free At Last! Respectfully, Michael Behenna

Michael was convicted on corrupted evidence that the trial court was shown right after the verdict was rendered, but refused to grant a new trial or reverse the verdict.

It is appalling that this young man was treated this way by his country.

I know, and the rest of our sons in Leavenworth should be released....especially since the known Terrorists are being let go straight back to their countries to kill more of our soldiers!!

Those of us who care will NOT give up doing whatever we can to help our soldiers in Leavenworth. Like Michael said, the fight is not over.

It is disgraceful. Thank goodness those jackwagons at CID and NCIS weren’t around in WWII. They would have locked guys from the Greatest Generation up left and right.

Thank you for helping to let others know! In my travels I find so many Americans who have no idea that we have soldiers in Leavenworth for killing Terrorists while known Terrorists are released from GITMO to go back to killing more of our troops!

Doing my MD ping here to help inform more Maryland folks about Sgt Derrick Miller. Re-posting the section below from Beverly Perlson’s email:

Thank You Allen West!

http://www.allenbwest.com/2014/04/obama-commutes-sentence-drug-dealer-pardon-behenna/

It is disgraceful and a slap in the face to all military families that the Commander-in-Chief of the United States of America allows a terrorist to go free, a terrorist who killed 5 American Sons and before he killed them, he tortured 4 of them and dumped their precious bodies on the side of the road! It is disgraceful that the Commander-in-Chief of the United States of America continually releases terrorists who continue to return to the battlefield to kill and maim our Brave Warriors! Now he's busy releasing drug dealers who sell drugs to our children!!

AND THE DOORS OF LEAVENWORTH STAY SLAMMED SHUT ON OUR SONS WHO WILLINGLY RISKED THEIR LIVES TO FIGHT THE VERY ENEMY THIS ADMINISTRATION APPEASES, CODDLES AND RELEASES TO KILL AND MAIM OUR SONS AND DAUGHTERS AGAIN, AND AGAIN, AND AGAIN!!!!!!

I ask you to please call your Senators and Congressmen and tell them it is an outrage that our Sons in Leavenworth continue to stay locked up while this Commander-in-Chief releases terrorists and now pardons drug dealers!!! Please raise your voices in outrage and demand that our Sons in Leavenworth be returned to their families. What is good enough for the terrorists should damn well be good enough for our Sons!

Thank You

“A nation can survive its fools and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and he carries his banners openly against the city. But the traitor moves among those within the gates freely, his sly whispers rustling through all alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself. For the traitor appears no traitor; he speaks in the accents familiar to his victim, and he wears their face and their garments and he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men. He rots the soul of a nation; he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of a city; he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murderer is less to be feared. The traitor is the plague.”

Audrey Russo will be talking with JD Gordon, Sgt Derrick Miller's mother, Renee, and myself regarding the case of Sgt Derrick Miller, serving a life sentence in Leavenworth for his defensive action on the lopsided and horrendous battlefield in Afghanistan.

As many of you know, I had the honor to meet Sgt.Miller at Leavenworth in March of this year and in April, along with Derrick's mother, met with 5 Democrat Maryland legislators in DC seeking their help and assistance. That is one frustrating story in itself!

Please send this notice out to your lists and please tune in tomorrow night at 6:30 eastern. This Soldier and his family sure could use your help and support. I once again reach out to all of you wonderful Patriots who had everything to do with helping lst Lt Michael Behenna go home to his family!

The link and info to the show are below.

I am so very grateful to Audrey Russo and Katie O'Malley for this opportunity!

Thank You! Beverly Perlson The Band of Mothers
