Armed guards surround Bundy, supporters fear imminent threat

LAS VEGAS -- Local rancher Cliven Bundy may have his cattle back, but his supporters say they are still preparing for an imminent threat.

Militia groups from all over the country say they are flocking to the Bundy ranch to protect the family from a feared federal government raid.

The Bureau of Land Management allowed Bundy to release his cattle Saturday, after they felt threatened.

Bundy now has a whole contingent of armed guards surrounding him 24 hours a day.

"They're just there, trying to make sure something crazy doesn't happen to him," Bundy's son Ammon Bundy said.

His security detail and family feel he is someone to be protected because of what the federal government could do.

I’d bet that if Bundy had continued paying the grazing fees they would still be after his ranch and trying to run him off. They have run everyone else off.

If he did, he'd be agreeing to the Federal terms, which would have reduced his herd to the point where the "minimum head" clause in his water rights contract would have caused him to lose the very water he needed for those cattle.

It's a very twisty tale.

And a good time to start boning up on guerrilla warfare tactics in urban settings.

This former British Army special forces guy, now US citizen, is teaching small unit tactics suitable for guerrilla warfare. I believe his "home range" is in West Virginia.

I keep trying to get hubby to cash out on the IRA although just a few more years and we wouldn’t have to pay the penalty we would now. He thinks I’m crazy but I wonder if we’d lose less by paying the penalty and having cash on hand.

I think this BLM/Bundy episode is to give confidence to our foreign debt holders that they will be able to collect on the ‘collateral’ they’ve been promised in return for buying our debt and not selling it.

I remember the book UNINTENDED CONSEQUENCES dealing with issues like this. I never finished reading it years ago as thought it was to far out. Now my memory recalls it being a good wake up. Time to dust it off.

I have re-read it recently. Amazing how prescient John Ross was when predicting the Fed tactics. Well, he'd seen it before, at Waco and Ruby Ridge. But Ross's descriptions seem so frighteningly real.

I’m no financial advisor, but I can tell you from experience that “a bird in the hand is indeed worth more than two in the bush”. Better look at percentage of that in precious metals too - IF you have all of the basic essentials covered first.

Yeah well, he put a bunch of money into silver and it promptly tanked after that. :) Still holding on to that of course - that’s his deal and I think even though it did go down - it’s nice to have an actual tangible asset we can hold as opposed to the “money in the IRA” which isn’t real until you take it out.

One other thing to consider, if you can buy something of long term use you need (e.g., clothing, vehicle, land, tools, weapons, long term food storage, and etc.), the fact that inflation will offset the penalty of cashing in your 401k now is something else to consider.

For example, I've purchased enough clothing, boots, gloves and so forth to last me for at least the next ten years. And I just saw an article recently about an unexpected increase in inflation. Some freeze dried foods are advertised to last for 30 years. Imagine if you had your food supply squared away for the next 10 and etc. Another thing to consider if how a market crash will affect the value of your 401K. I'm not sure what your penalty would be, but the markets could easily drop 50% from its current highs.

Just my 2 cents... ;-) What ever you decide, it's you and your husband that have to live with it.

Exactly! It's like insurance that you don't have to pay for monthly, with the odds in your favor that it will be worth much more than the government fiat you traded for it in the future.

It’s a great time to not be an operative for anything or anyone. I copy and paste and if NSA or FB doesn’t like them, they handle the rest.

Other than a refusal to pay grazing fees Bundy has not broken any laws, federal or state. The involvement of the FBI or other federal leos are uncalled for. If there are threats to the BLM personnel, beyond words in a TV interview, the feds will be there quickly. IMHO Bundy has no legal leg to stand on. The Constitution of the State of Nevada clearly recognized federal ownership of those lands when statehood was applied for. That predates the Bundy family’s arrival in Clark County by at least 18 years. This does not excuse the arrogant and violent action of the BLM. I feel this has more to do with demonstration of both federal power and willingness to use it as an example to prevent any future Sagebrush Rebellions. Otherwise BLM could simply have gone to court, won their case and simply applied a federal lien on any income that would be paid to Bundy for his cattle or crops. Now they have to do something or have a rancher who owes substantial payments to BLM go without consequence. It’s one thing to allow illegals to remain here without consequence but to have a prosperous rancher who openly professes scorn on the feds get away with this could result in repetitions all ovet the West, at the least. That is a possibility the feds and Obama do not want to see played out. My guess is they are not stupid and will go the federal court route.

The first move should be to get “eyes on” every normally manned BLM facility/office/yard west of the continental divide. Unusual vehicle movement would be the easiest/first thing to note. BLM’s normal operation requires the movement of about one vehicle at a time. They have animal haulers and a little heavy equipment but the movement of multiples of anything should be a red flag.

Anyone else hear about Walmart offering $400,000 to BLM if they remove Bundy from his land? And is it credible?

Probably not. You can look for them to put a lot of bull shit out to muddy the waters from the facts. Just keep focused on Reid and you will probably be o.k.

If heard the rumor (a walmart connected trust). Haven’t seen any documents, but some say they exist.

stripping away their casus belli——aaannnnddd their cash. If the BeLaMies had an extra 3+ million bucks to pisx away on this clusterflock then they need to lose that from their next budget.

>>I remember when I used to wave at cops.<<

Cops have become so paranoid and hyper-vigilant these days. More and more folks are being capped by the cops for this reason.

For instance, a woman was shot and killed by officers for swinging a baseball bat. Ok, sure, she shouldn't have swung a bat around the officers....but did they have to kill her?

How bout the little boy with the toy gun? Gunned down. Ok, it was a toy that looked like a gun. Did the kid fire a shot? No. He was gunned down by officers. They couldn't take up defensive positions? How bout a leg shot? Nonlethal methods? Why take the kid's life?

A legal concealed carrier in a Costco or Sam's club. Someone noticed his sidearm and called the cops. When he and his wife exited the store, cops screamed commands at him. Not understanding what was happening, he turned toward the cops...they gunned him down right in front of his wife. Killed him dead.

On and on and on.... I sure don't trust’em any longer.

These videos are for people who don't yet understand why Cliven Bundy broke his agreement with the BLM. They show why the BLM should not even be managing the public lands of Nevada or any other state.

2of3 Stephen Pratt speaking to Sheriffs at WSSA conference

3of3 Stephen Pratt speaking to Sheriffs at WSSA conference

Here's one that shows why the Sheriff of Clark County is duty bound to keep the BLM and all Federal agents from arresting Cliven Bundy.
