Sheriff: Feds strategize for 'raid' on ranch [Sheriff Mack]

Warning follows threat from Harry Reid that grazing dispute 'not over'

The chief of the Constitutional Sheriffs and Peace Officers Association says his sources inside the federal government are warning that Washington’s weekend retreat in a dispute over grazing land in Nevada was just to distract and defuse – because a raid on the family’s ranch still is being strategized.

And there probably would be violence involved, said Richard Mack, the former sheriff of Grisham County, Ariz.

“I don’t think it would be possible” to launch a raid without violence, he told WND Monday. “I don’t the Bundys would lie down and be taken.”

He cited the threat from Sen. Harry Reid, D-Nev., that the confrontation was far from over, despite the weekend’s retreat by armed gunmen working for federal agencies.

Reid on Monday told KRNV-TV in Reno. “It’s not over. We can’t have an American people that violate the law and then just walk away from it. So it’s not over.”

The quest for a small Federal Gov is a lost cause at this point...it must be broken and rebuilt.

Do you play Dungeons and Dragons or are you an MMOG gamer? This is real life, the big leagues and playing for keeps. Calling for blood shows that you’re not stable or mature enough to be here.

You have to win and you don’t do that by killing or maiming or hurting. Not for a kook like Bundy.

Just as a side question: When, what exact time frame, did the land belong to no one?

As a follow up question: You know that Bundy’s already lied to you, correct?

Your video idea has all the umph of another strongly worded letter. The government has been seizing things for years—complaining after the fact doesn’t work. Stopping them in the act is something different.

If you think that Brown ultimately hurt the abolitionist cause, I beg to disagree. Polarization and radicalization are effective if you are driving for true change. Better to have 20% of the population fervently behind you than 5% with another 47% who are willing to honk horns. Hearts and minds will get you nice cards from Halmark—a willingness to die will get you a free country once again.

The symbol isn’t Bundy. Bundy’s a loser. The cause cannot be Bundy or we lose. That’s my point.

The cause is American liberty and there are literally thousands of families out there, who individually and in the aggregate, that make a great symbol. That’s the way to go here.

Fine, Bundy sparked something, but sticking with him is a ride to oblivion. It’s quite literally going backwards. His cause is not just. He’s in the wrong, demonstrably, and judge after judge has shown that. Where are all our great conservative/libertarian legal scholars? If he were right, they’d be crawling all over themselves to get this case.

Bundy’s wrong. He’s the wrong guy and the wrong symbol. The Civil Rights Movement picked very good symbols. Rosa Parks was a law abiding person. Bundy’s not and hasn’t been for 20 years. Use him and we lose.

Go out and get those thousands who are good symbols. They exist. This cause is in the news, pound on it. The abuse is real and there real, sympathetic heroes out there.

It's my understanding, buttressed by numerous cites on FR threads the past week, that Bundy HAS been paying the fees, regularly, to the state of NV all along.

As has been pointed out a jillion times in here, given that the BLMaggots have surely blown thru well north of the disputed million $ last week,
the 'delinquent fees' bullshit is just their Reichstag fire to spoon feed to the LIVs while they do some Nazi calesthenics.

I sincerely hope that any fedgov JBT who fires on those people doesn't make it out of that desert alive.
Additionally, justice would be served should escalating developments give reason to introduce the (posthumous) nickname 'Crossfire Harry'.

(but as cowards never rarely get near the sharp end, won't hold my breath for that last bit)

We’re winning. That thousands were willing to defend a kook like Bundy shows that times have changed since Waco and Elian.

Supporting Bundy and/or violence is a loser and will set our cause back a generation. There are good symbols out there.

But it’s okay for illegal foreigners to swamp the country with criminals, drug lords, and carriers of contagious diseases, kill American Citizens. Some one needs to give this guy an attitude ajustment. Treat him like a Missouri Mule would be a good start.

That is probably exactly what their planning. Reid wants blood on his hands over a families land.

Lincoln won the Civil War, not on the battlefield, but in the thoughtspace. He kept borderline slave holding states in the Union via wise diplomacy, maintaining the high ground, and politicking appropriately.

Brown lost the war. It was the South who, if wiser more mature men had succeeded, could have walked away from the Union. The attack on Ft. Sumter handed the war and the moral high ground to the North.

Follow the example of Lincoln and we win, bigger than FReepers realize. We’re about to take both Houses of Congress. We hold in 100% control over half the states. Unionism is on the decline. The corrupt, socialist urban model that dominates in NY, CA and IL is dying and dying hard. Don’t give the losers an opportunity to win.

Pivot away from Bundy, make him one of ten thousand and you win your cause without sullying it with a kook.

It’s Clark County. You say the government has driven 53 ranchers out of business? Really? Don’t you think some of those ranchers sold their family properties to cash out? Much easier than ranching and far more lucrative. It’s the way of the world - I know more than a few rich “former” farmers who sold the land. Cattle ranching is still profitable despite the growing amount of regulation on the business - the price of beef reflects this.

My neighbor pays his grazing fees and also pays to use my pasture for his cows. That is business. He does not have a right to graze his cattle on my property because his father or grandfather did. He does not own the property anymore. Any claims he once held to the land should have been settled years ago in court by his father or grandfather. That is how it works out here no matter how flawed BLM may be.

This story has taken on a narrative all it’s own and it’s become a wildfire of spin, but the one fact that is not in dispute is that Bundy made a decision not to pay for his grazing rights. If he really believed that reasoning he should have stopped paying taxes.

While I sympathize with the larger sentiments, we should be very cautious because there are major ramifications for property rights. Using his logic, I should go to our our old family homestead (also federal land) and cut some firewood because my grandpa and his father did it? Let’s see where that gets me. I can’t because we don’t own the land anymore!

Count me as the second kook on the thread. Maybe a bunch of you would come pick up guns to defend my neighbor if the County came to evict his cows after he refused to pay me for using it without my permission? Is there a difference? He used to own this land - probably a better claim that Bundy’s father or grandfather.

FWIW though - I really hope Reid had something to do with this because of Rory. I am tired of the blatant corruption from Reid. Politicians have no right benefitting directly or indirectly from permissions granted for public land.

I don’t always agree with how public lands are used or regulated, but it is public land that belongs to the nation and we can set the terms at the ballot box. Private land = mine. The same property rights apply to both in this situation.

Reading some of the comments makes me shake my head. 1010RD is right - this is not the place to make a stand.

Those of you who compare this to the real Boston Tea Party fail to understand - we have representation. Bundy made an informed decision and most of his supporters seem blind to the fact that thousands of Westerners have paid land use rights to the BLM without a problem. Why is Bundy worth our blood when he is the only one who did not follow the law?

Reading some of the comments to this story make me shake my head.... should I just gun down the next officer who pulls me over for speeding because I don’t like his agency or the law? Is that the way to change the speed limit laws?

I live behind enemy lines in Obamacountry. I am nose to nose with the enemy every day and I win. I don’t live in a digital fantasy world. We have to think strategically and play the long game. Bundy’s a sideshow... more a freak show than the real thing.

Find real victims, bring them to the light. Force the media to take note and report on it. Bundy’s a set up. The cause is true and right, Bundy’s not the cause. He’s too small to be the cause. Our cause is individual liberty, much, much bigger than Bundy.

Bundy made an informed decision

Is such a thing possible any more? They tell you only what they want you to know, and they can change it tomorrow if they feel like it.
