We were visiting Hawaii a few years back and made the required stop at Pearl Harbor and the Arizona. About 1 and 3 people in line for the Arizona memorial were Asian and very likely Japanese. I could tell by the language and facial features. Not certain why they were visiting

For the same reason southerners visit Ft. Sumter.

Good point.

But just as long as they are respectful. And they were although they loved their cigarettes. There was a heavy cloud hanging over us.

And probably mostly old stories from their granddad for them since none of them fought in the war and they were at least one generation removed.
