No the two people he killed were from Church of the Resurrection, our local mega church, Methodist.
The Jewish Community Center in Overland Park has a lot of non-Jewish members.
We don’t hate Jewish people here and we have always intermingled. I grew up swimming at the Jewish Community Center and so did a lot of my Christian friends. I grew up Catholic.
He was exempting Jewish people from his wrath
A Jew would NEVER say “Heil Hitler” so I doubt this guy was Jewish, unless he was setting up an insanity defense.
If he liked Jews he wouldn’t have gone to a Jewish Community Center to shoot people..unless he knew specifically that not everyone there was Jewish, but from what the police said he had no connection to the area and did not know his victims

That’s what the reporter who heard it believes he heard the suspect yelling..but I guess it could always be proven wrong

Also, it wouldn’t be weired for a grandfather to be taking a younger teen to Hebrew school or Torah school on a Sunday, based on what I think I know from our Jewish friends.
I’m hearing he shouted “Zieg Hiel!” or some such after his arrest.
It’s very possible the people who were killed said they were Jewish to give someone else a chance to get away. Terrible situations lead people to do things they wouldn’t do in other circumstances.

There's no such thing as a "Hate Crime". A crime is a crime. Whether it is based on hate, rage, or human indifference, is irrelevant.
