""The sovereign militias are ruling the day," said Rob Mrowka, senior scientist with the Center for Biological Diversity. "Now that this precedent has been set and they're emboldened by the government's capitulation, what's to stop them from applying the same tactics and threats elsewhere?"

That's the point, Silly Goose.

Power can be projected both ways.

“The Center for Biological Diversity believes that the welfare of human beings is deeply linked to nature - to the existence in our world of a vast diversity of wild animals and plants. Because diversity has intrinsic value, and because its loss impoverishes society, we work to secure a future for all species, great and small, hovering on the brink of extinction. We do so through science, law, and creative media, with a focus on protecting the lands, waters, and climate that species need to survive. The Center has six program areas: Biodiversity, Climate, International, Oceans, Wildlands, and Urban Wildlands. The Center looks forward to a future of continued expansion, creativity, and no-holds-barred action on behalf of the world’s most critically endangered animals and plants.”

The Center for Biological Diversity is one of the top 5 leftist environmental groups that regularly files lawsuits (CWA/CAA) against the Government, trying to stop economic improvements and expansion of energy facilities, among others.

They are extremely well funded and staffed by the “New Environmental Left”.

Go to their website and see for yourself.

They have gone far beyond responsible environmental concerns to become the “shock troops” of environmental extremism, along with the Sierra Club, Environmental Action, and the Natural Resources Defense Fund, among others.

Know your enemy before you engage them! First rule of warfare and psy-ops.

But an official with an environmental group that had notified the government it would sue unless federal land managers sought to protect tortoises...

Center for Biological Diversity - meet the Staff

These are the folks that were pushing this event.

Looks like an even split between starry eyed co-eds who love cute & furry little bunnies & polar bears and a bunch of lawyers out to "make a difference.

Not a lot of "diversity" on their staff. Most appear to be the children of rich white honkies.

That's just my non-diverse, bigoted opinion.

Typical liberal - pissed that his government men with guns didn't kill the people he wanted killed for his peaceful cause.
