It does seem like Deputy Dog got it done but remember that he first said he wouldn’t interfere, that it was a federal operation. Suspiciously, somehow, he got his head jerked and got off his butt. I’m guessing it was those armed civilians and horse mounted cowboys that prompted him to make his move. The next stop they made might have been at his office——— to take his badge and keys.
