It has nearly doubled in the last 2 years. About 1/2 our corn crop goes into ethanol. This has caused a price spike in corn and the people who raise cattle had to have a higher price or else go out of business which many did.
Not just beef...the pre-cooked prepared chicken I bought just a year ago for $5 are now $8....
