In my years in the AF, on some bases I found the Security Forces to be rather anxious for some kind of action. This may have been one such instance.

Back when I was in, 1966-1969, the wore an AP patch for AIR POLICE. Everyone referred to them as APES.

Their name was later changed to SP (Security Police).

Needless to say, they deserved the moniker APES.
