I’m still reading it but it seems that Gold Butte is becoming a preserve in order to “compensate for the loss of some of the habitat, visual resources, and ecological services that are expected from the development of the Dry Lake SEZ [Solar Energy Zone]” “The Gold Butte ACEC [Area of Critical Environmental Concern] is in the same ecological zone (ecoregion) and subzone as the Dry Lake SEZ and is of the same vegetation community. The Gold Butte ACEC provides habitat for all of the wildlife, including the special status species, found in the Dry Lake SEZ”
