The Senate unanimously passed a bill sponsored by Sen. Ted Cruz Monday night, which would block known terrorists from getting visas to enter the United States as U.N. ambassadors.
He thanked several senators by name on the Senate floor he said were instrumental in the passage, including Sen. Chuck Schumer, a Democrat and a very unlikely ally.
Irans newest U.N. ambassador, Hamid Aboutalebi, was an active participant in the 1979 Iran hostage crisis, when 52 Americans were held hostage for 444 days in Tehran. He was appointed earlier this year by Iranian President Hasan Rouhani.
Shchumer said in a statement reported by The New York Daily News that the nomination was totally inappropriate.
It may be a case of strange bedfellows, said Schumer, but Im glad Senator Cruz and I were able to work out a bill that would prevent this terrorist from stepping foot on American soil.

Now ... what about the sympathizer in the white house ... ?
Then the bill is NOT a good thing.
Unanimous approval only happens when there is something nasty hidden in the bill.
What’s not to like about Senator Cruz?
I’m very happy to have that Texan working for me!
how about enabler and active supporter?
I thought Cruz was a RADICAL that no one would follow....
They should let him show up in New York and then arrest him.
Who would want THAT on their record?
Sheik Obomba will veto it.
Hey, it's politics!
It really doesn’t matter what the House and Senate do. They can unanimously pass the bill and Obama could veto it. They could override the veto and the terrorist would show up anyway. And then Holder would simply not enforce the law because he has such vast discretion to ignore the law. That’s the Government we have.
I’d say The Onion? had I not already watched Ted on FNC about this.
After the libs get through beating their chests and strutting around a bit, they will then argue the definition of “known terrorists” in order to do business as usual. They will look good, all the while letting activist judges do the dirty work. Same old song and dance.
Of course they all voted for it...because they know it's meaningless. The headquarters agreement between the U.S. and the UN says the United States cannot block any representative of the UN from entering the country and working at the UN headquarters. This legislation can't be enforced. And I assume Ted Cruz knows it.
The bill seems like a no-brainer to begin with. You’d have to be a blithering idiot to NOT agree with this.
YES! I love it. Principle wins out
Imagine the commercials that could be run against anyone that dared to vote against this?? Democrats were probably sweating as they approved this.
Damned smart move on Cruz’s part!!
Holder should be in jail.
This is good. Sponsorship and unanimous passage of this bill will come in handy in the 2016 debates when demonstrating leadership while discussing national security issues.
