April 08, 2014, 12:54 pm Husband of woman McAllister kissed: 'He has wrecked my life'

By Rebecca Shabad

The husband of the woman who was caught kissing Rep. Vance McAllister (R-La.) in a video that surfaced Monday says the congressman has destroyed his life and marriage.

“I’m just freaking devastated by the whole deal, man. I loved my wife so much. I cannot believe this. I cannot freaking believe it. I feel like I’m going to wake up here in a minute, and this is all going to be a bad nightmare,” Heath Peacock told CNN on Tuesday.

Peacock told CNN he wasn’t aware of what happened until his wife, Melissa Peacock, 33, called him a few hours before the news broke.

“He has wrecked my life,” Peacock said of McAllister on CNN. “We’re headed for divorce.”

The couple has been married for six years, and they have a 6-year-old son.

“It was just a kiss; that was all it was, but it embarrassed me and my family,” Peacock said. “This guy has turned my life upside down.”

His wife was seen kissing McAllister in surveillance footage that went viral on Monday. The Ouachita Citizen said it obtained the video clip from an anonymous source. It was recorded on Dec. 23, a month after McAllister was sworn into office.

Melissa Peacock was the congressman’s district scheduler, and was taken off payroll as of Monday night.

McAllister, meanwhile, says he doesn’t plan to resign and has asked God, his family and his constituents for forgiveness.

The congressman said he told his wife of 16 years about the encounter earlier this year, and they are working through it.

McAllister was elected to replace Rep. Rodney Alexander (R-La.) in a special election last fall. He ran ads touting his Christian faith, but Peacock told CNN he believed that was just a ploy for votes.

"I know his beliefs. When he ran one of his commercials, he said ‘I need your prayers,’ and I asked, ‘When did you get religious?’ He said, ‘When I needed votes,’ ” Peacock said. “He broke out the religious card, and he’s about the most nonreligious person I know.”

What was funny when that one did the chair turn. I was sitting there stunned thinking “did that just happen?” when my wife popped out of the elevator. The wall of the room was glass so she could see in.

All I said was “my wife just got off the elevator” and that skank couldn’t run fast enough.

They ended up hiring a older battleaxe of a lady to replace me. But you’re right, it did drastically lower my opinion of women in the workplace.

He didn’t wreck your life. Your wife did. The video SHOULD have showed the good Congressman leaning in to try to kiss your wife, and her hand coming out to slap him, or at least your good wife turning her head or jumping away.

NOTE TO HORNY REPUBLICANS IN OFFICE: if you don’t know that you are held to a different standard, and you Just Gotta Get Some, please run as a Democrat. You can get all the skirt you want in that party.

Conservative means at least the heck divorce or separate before getting intimate with someone. K?

That is true and you are right about HR policies, but if the accused doesn’t fight back, they keep getting away with it. HR covers their butt by doing their required “investigation” but 9 times out of 10, the accused gets the boot. I saw one woman in my career get fired but they didn’t get her for false accusations even though after about five times they figured it out. They were afraid to fire her for the false accusations but she came in drunk one day and they got her for that. Prior to that they just told all of their male managers to be careful when they were around her.

Something needs to be fixed.

LOL, I’m laughing about the skank getting caught. :-) Sadly, a man doesn’t have a chance when working with a bunch of women. I only had two women that worked for me but several men. The men didn’t give me half the trouble those two women did.

So she would do this willfully in front of a public security camera. The footage of which has now been released. She now has zero leverage.

If you’re going to blackmail someone, you film it yourself, not via a public security camera.

Again, not buying it. Try again.

Don't disagree with one word..............

..................................

Good old Harry Truman was correct when he observed, "My choice early in life was either to be a piano player in a whorehouse or a politician. And to tell the truth, there's hardly any difference. I, for one, believe the piano player job to be much more honorable than current politicians.

My first clue shoulda been when I walked into the team meetings and they’d be talking about their double D’s. But NO I was too stupid to go to HR to protect myself.

Infidelity is not an event, it is a lifestyle. He/she got caught once, it does not change the pattern.

A setup. Hilarious. Yes, every time a woman shorter than I looks up into my eyes, I lip lock with her. Big time. Can’t help myself.

In the youtube posted to the thread, the kiss started at 13 seconds, and cut away still kissing at 29 seconds - yes I actually checked. That there ain’t no setup. They’d done that before.

She’s the wife of his childhood friend, whom he hired to be his, what, appointment keeper. Or did I not read that? As a cosmetologist, scheduling probably is in her toolkit.

Those on this thread that saw anything other than a pre or post coital (my guess, post, it looked like his shirt was not tucked in) kiss need it to be something else for their own (bizarre) reasons.

I had to have several talks with my team about what was appropriate or not appropriate while at work. I had one white woman in her 30’s, single, and promiscuous and one black woman happily married with three kids. There were several men on the team. When the white single woman didn’t get what she wanted she cried sexual harassment. The black woman didn’t give much trouble unless she really got upset and then it was because she was black and female. The men didn’t give me trouble. They even went out of their way to please me but I think most of it was because I kept the two women off of them. The women couldn’t pull anything over on me like they could a man.

If his constituents don’t call for his head - and probably aren’t as he isn’t resigning - it could well be they are also adulterers and *are* being ‘represented’.

A couple of reasons. The first is that women usually don’t just drop their drawers on a moment’s notice and have sex with whomever is close by. If a woman has a sexual relationship with somebody, there is a relationship there somewhere. Men, on the other hand, are quite capable of having sex with somebody, at a moment’s notice, and get on with their day as if nothing has happened. And men know this, which is why the husband is devastated. His wife has given a part of herself to this Congressman.

The second reason is that women are usually more concerned, when their spouse is unfaithful, on whether they will be competing with another woman for his attention, while men are naturally concerned with having his woman all to himself.
